I'm having trouble assigning priority for nomenclature (I think i might be confusing them with Cahn Ingold Prelog system... they're not the same, right?)
Would BrCH2CH2I be named 1-bromo-2-iodoethane? cause for nomenclature you try to have the substituents in alphabetical order if they're the 'same priority'? (for CIP 'I' would be higher than 'Br', yea?)
my textbook has nomenclature all over the place (they explain it little by little in each chapter with the functional groups) and i can't seem to get the big picture of it..
if anyone has a good website that explains this well, i would appreciate that too.
