I feel like I see a pattern; on the east coast it's Orgo and out west it's Ochem? I know this is a ridiculous question, but I'm bored.

This has always driven me nuts! In Alaska we referred to it as Ochem, but now that I live in Maryland everybody around me calls it orgo. I've always wondered why the hell anyone would call it orgo--it's not a proper contraction at all. If anything, people should call it orga, not orgo!

no, pchem is pchem. i live in NY, i don't know why that is the case. analytical chem is called quant, not a-chem or q-chem. that's because in my school, analytical is called quantitative analytical chemistry, quant for short. not qchem or achem.
