I have been going over the DAT destroyer and some kaplan practice questions. There are some Nomenclature questions that are really hard to figure it out. I know that most people say DAT destroyer is hard. But I am wondering, how much Nomenclature should I know.. I listened Chad videos they seem really helpful but I feel like some questions go beyond what Chad mentioned on his videos. Based on your real DAT experiences (the ones who has taken the test before), how challenging Nomenclature can get?

I don't think nomenclature is difficult. Nor have I heard anyone complain. The advantage on the dat is that you get multiple choices from which you may be able to figure it out (like parent compound name, substituent name). The only thing the multiple choices don't help you figure out are the groups that get priority. Work on that cos that gets tricky.

I don't remember the nomenclature on my DAT being very hard at all.

Know how to name all the functional groups, long and branched chains. You should be ok. Destroyer is very tough, but if you understand it, you will definitely be prepared. Go over the solutions carefully. It is difficult to predict what will come on the DAT.
