Hello everyone! I am applying to a couple of doctorate programs this year, but I noticed that some of them are non-accredited? Namely, Tufts, University of Pittsburg, University of Puget Sound, and West Coast University. They all have accredited MSOT programs, so I was wondering if that kind of guarantees an accreditation for their OTD program? Is there a risk in applying to a non-accredited school?

Thanks guys!

I can only speak for West Coast University as I spoke with an aota representative because I had the same question after getting accepted into their otd program. West Coast is on its final stage of getting the OTD program accredited and it will most like get cleared soon since they already have an accredited MSOT program and are familiar with the accredidation process. There was a recent campus visit this month for the final accreditation process, and the representative reassured me that it is very rare being in the final stages of accreditation and getting denied.
