Non-Interview Dress

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Probably a football jersey and jeans. I'm sure they'll see through me if I show up in a blazer and a pair of Dockers.

I wore a short sleeve button-down and slacks. Seemed to be perfectly appropriate (Even when I met a few admissions officers). Business casual is fine.

Good, I don't want to be in that suit any more than I have to be 😛
Thanks for the input

a suit shows you're serious.....

I recently went on a couple school tours and it was funny cause i dressed business casual and was walking around in the anatomy room while the D1s were taking class. No one seemed to pay much attention to me since I was dressed similar to the students, but some of the others were in suits, and I overheard a few D1s talking about them as "fresh meat."

You can take that as good or bad as you will...I just thought it was funny cause they did stand out. The only other people in the entire building in suits were the deans.

I agree a suit shows your serious, but only needed if it's for something more official, like an interview. If we're talking about just visiting a school (on your own or with a current student) to see how you feel about the campus and students, and you may want to drop by the admissions office, then I think you can show you're serious by how you present yourself (excluding attire) and what you have to say/ask if you happen to meet an admissions officer.
