So I've heard a bunch of people saying that med schools actually look at your "non-science GPA" (meaning all your classes that aren't BCPM). Is this true? If so, how much weight does it have? And does this mean that you should take a good amount of HSS classes? I've finished my sophomore year and have only taken about 4...

does engineering courses count in this?

Umm...yes they actually look at the non-scientific aspect of your GPA. Did you really think they wouldn't? It probably is not as heavily weighed as the science GPA but it still reflects upon your general academic ability. Also, I'm assuming that in order to graduate with a degree at any college, a fair amount of humanities and social science classes need to be taken...

eep, I'm in a similar situation. Maybe the OP (like me) has a lot of HSS courses schedule for senior year?

I don't know about you guys, but the HSS classes at my school are 10000000 times harder than the science/engineering classes. Yeah, you heard me, harder than engineering. Not just my opinion; there's a very large consensus

Yes, engineering courses are not included in the BCPM unless they were very biologically orientated and you managed to slip them in. So for the most part, they're included in the AO GPA.
