Hey all,
I was accepted as a Diploma Candidate to Harvard's Post Bacc program-the Health Careers Program-in it's Extension School for this Fall. After I finish the program I am considering, partly for personal enrichment, moving into their Master's of Liberal Arts Program (ALM) in International Relations. Mind you, by this point I will have completed my Med School Pre Reqs through the Post Bacc program.
Harvard's ALM functions by taking 7 classes in you field of concentration and then 2 electives outside of it, along with completing a master's thesis. Therefore, I will most likely take two Biology electives and the 7 IR courses. Further, I aim to compose my thesis on the topic of the absence of medical aid in relation to racial discontent in various western European diasporas.
My preliminary inquiry is-will this type of masters program concentration-following Harvard Extension's Post Bacc, hinder me in my acceptance to medical school, largely because my graduate research with not be based in biology etc?
For reference my undergrad GPA is a 3.6 with a major in History-minor in English and foreign languages. I aim to undertake this particular academic path because I want to work in international medicine.
Thanks for you help!
