hello guys,
I am a pharmD graduate from a 0-6 year pharmacy program. My GPA ended up being a 3.25; I was going under a lot of stress and depression due to very personal reasons and burned out due to lack of motivation to do pharmacy. I am ridiculously sad about my GPA and am concerned that ADCOMS would see that I did a pharmacy major where I was taking all science classes and tanked it. However, I have considered taking a few science classes, namely anatomy, physiology and more biological sciences as I feel I tend to do better in those than I do in therapeutics (which was the main component of my pharmacy grades). I will also have to do physics because pre-pharmacy did not require me to do physics. I would prefer not to do an SMP because I have a desire to do my masters in public health whether I end up ultimately deciding to do medicine or not. I have considered applying as early as next year.

I have some questions for people, preferably those who got into MD programs
1. what did you do to fix your GPA? Out of the following options, which do you think would be the more useful to ADCOMS to show improvement + readiness to do MD.
-Take graduate level biology classes (I think I may be able to enroll in graduate classes with my degree)
-Retake undergrad classes that I have gotten a C in (microbiology and organic chem II)
-(really last resort as I want to do my MPH degree)-SMP

2. With my GPA and with improvements do I have a chance of getting into middle, lower-tier, local school? I am in New England on the east coast, and would be happy going to a local state school. I don't have a state school in my state, but local options I have are University of Connecticut, University of Massachusetts, University of Vermont school of medicine, SUNY downstate, Rutgers RW Johnson. I would consider to go as far to Maryland UMD-Baltimore and maybe even Virginia.
I would also consider Quiniapac (I see the medical school opened in 2013), Hofstra

3. How long do you think it will take, with MCAT, GPA improvement all together? I am planning to take a 2 month break for now and try to find a job by August and consider the MPH program for 2015-2016 year. I would ideally like to get into medical school by 2016 or 2017 (more so looking into 2017). I will be 26 in 2017 :S

I have already written a post about this but I am wondering if I should reconsider medical school with my GPA. I may start taking the classes as early as fall semester or spring semester if I do not find a pharmacy job and try to get a job as a medical scribe or TA or something similar to pay for tuition.
