Hi,

I am a pre-dent student currently enrolled in NYU. I am an international student holding an F-1 Visa and am interested in applying in an American Dental School.

I wanted to know how many "non US-Citizen" or "non US-Resident" have been accepted in an american dental school in the past few years?

otherwise what are my chances to get accepted in an american dental school????

thank you very much for your help

Hey,
I am an international student holding F-1 visa as well. I am not entirely sure about how international students did in the past, but I think there's definitely a chance. Granted it is a little more difficult, but as long as you have competitive stats and did your research I think it will turn out OK.

I can't speak for myself because I haven't been accepted yet, but I have received a number of interviews so far so I think there surely is hope

Hey,

you should really buy the "ADEA official guide to dental school" book. It has all that info in it -- how many international students were excepted, what the residency requirements are for each school, etc. Totally helped me decide which school to apply to and which ones NOT TO!

I'm also international applying for 2008. If your read the dental college guid book there are several schools that do not care the nationality. And also, some schools prefer minorities due to shortage of minority dentists.
So I am doing my best holding the hope!

...clearly I need to check my spelling

ACCEPTED to dental school, not excepted. lol

I could find the book in my school library and pre-health advising center.
Also, you can google. (Yeah, I have an old one, anyway)
