Been lurking for more than two years since I decided to make the jump and become a nontrad. Getting pretty anxious, want to know your thoughts. Submitted 8/10, took my final prereq in Summer and transcript wasn't ready any earlier. Pre-writing secondaries and hope to be complete by Labor Day at all the below. Is the limited volunteering and late submission going to be lethal? Appreciate any input
  1. 3.5 uGPA including 4.0 in DIY post bac. Have not taken biochemistry
  2. 520 MCAT (130/130/130/130)
  3. NY Resident
  4. ORM
  5. Undergrad for 2 years in city school then transferred to a major OOS public university. Marketing major.
  6. 100 hrs volunteering in Inpatient Pediatrics playing games with kids and keeping them company in group setting and 1 on 1.
  7. Will begin volunteering as an SAT tutor once school is in session.
  8. No research
  9. No shadowing. Parent is a physician which has given me exposure to lifestyle and some insight into day-to-day
  10. I have been working in Corporate for almost 5 years. Have varied experiences through this and good amount to draw on regarding teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership.
  11. Have LORs from volunteering, professor, and former boss
  12. Took 2 of my 4 pre-reqs at a CC because of limited classes outside of working hours at my local 4-years.
  13. Submitted primaries to the below, any others I should add?
Einstein
Boston University
Hofstra
Drexel
EVMS
Quinnipiac University
George Washington
Icahn
Keck
Temple University
Loyola
Saint Louis
Seton Hall
Thomas Jefferson University
SUNY Downstate
Stony Brook
Tufts
Miami
VCU
Wake Forest
Cornell
NYU

You could add these schools to your list:
SUNY Upstate
SUNY Buffalo
Vermont
Penn State
NOVA MD
Oakland Beaumont
Western Michigan
Medical College Wisconsin
Rosalind Franklin
Cincinnati
Your complete lack of shadowing and research and a low number of clinical volunteering hours will limit the number of interviews you receive.

Lack of research will be lethal at Cornell, Sinai, Einstein, NYU
Lack of shadowing will be more lethal,. You can't rely on having a parent as doctor for this experience.
Ecs are really weak. take a gap year.

Being a reinventor, you need DO schools on the list.
Of your list, these show love to reinventors:

Boston University
Hofstra
Drexel
EVMS
Quinnipiac University
George Washington
Keck
Loyola
Saint Louis
Seton Hall
SUNY Downstate
Stony Brook
Tufts
Miami
Wake Forest

He has already applied.

OP, if you've applied and don't want to withdraw, set up some shadowing ASAP in the next two months so that you have something new to talk about at interviews and/or to send updates if allowed by schools. And I assume you're going to take Biochem - ace that with an A.

Prepare not to get in - so if you have to apply again be ready. Start now with a good clinical volunteering and pack as many hours in as possible. Pick something with good contact with patients - maybe hospice, low-income clinic, inner-city hospital.

Do not volunteer as an SAT tutor - that won't help.

Pretend you've been rejected and it's May 2019 - what do you want next year's application to have that addresses your weaknesses now (and everyone has some weaknesses - I'm not picking on you).

Damn, that's a lot of donations. Taking his/her SO out for dinner would have been better.

Thanks for the honesty all... would I be considered a reapplicant if I withdraw? Have only submitted primaries
