Hi all,

I am wondering what options are out there for people graduating with PharmDs, but do not want to go into retail or hospital pharmacy. What are other career options for people with PharmDs? Specifically, HOW do you land one of these jobs as a PharmD? Some examples I have found are nuclear pharmacy, home infusion and chemotherapy, drug experience coordinator, FDA/NIH, drug information pharmacist, poison control pharmacist, long term care pharmacist, etc. How exactly do you get these and any other pharmacist jobs, how much do they pay, what is the work environment and what are the hours like for nontraditional pharmacist jobs? Who is it necessary to get in contact with? Is it necessary to do a residency in order to get a nontraditional pharmacy career, or can you go into these straight out of pharmacy school?
