Hi everyone,
I currently live in New York and am completing my post-bacc here. I would like to move closer to my family when I'm finished, which means back southwards. I will be finished with my classes in June, so I am planning to move then, probably to North Carolina. I will also be applying that summer.
I know that for instate tuition, I would need to live and work in North Carolina for a year, but what about simply applying? When I submit my AMCAS application, if I am residing in North Carolina and working or looking for work there, can I put down North Carolina as my state of residency? Or am I going to run into problems when UNC or Brody asks how long I've been there? If they deem me to be OOS, will I in effect be stateless for the application cycle?
I also assume that, were I admitted either as an OOS or IS applicant, I'd be eligible for in-state tuition by the time September of 2013 rolled around, but please let me know if I'm wrong about that.
Thanks so much!
