The vast majority of faculty and research jobs would not hire someone from an unaccredited online program. Additionally, the rigor and opportunities for research needed to publish in high impact journals to make one competitive in this market would be impossible in such a setting.

As someone who spends nearly all of his professional time in the addiction space, I would strongly discourage you from considering this program.

I have literally never reviewed or even read a paper by anyone there, nor have I seen a single grant application from anyone there. That alone suggests to me that they are going to be completely incapable of providing doctoral level research training.

Don't go to a school that isn't accredited. Just don't. It will only hurt your career opportunities and why spend money on something that isn't going to help you reach your goals?

why do such programs exist, what would one do with this degree..

These programs exist to make money for some people. As to what people do with such a degree, they receive a hefty loan that they have trouble paying back for a long time.

These programs exist hoping that people enroll without looking at the fine print. For what you want to do (teaching, research), this is an incredibly competitive field, particularly when it comes to positions that actually pay well (tenure track). Job openings are not that numerous, and there are usually many applicants for these positions, many from top research programs, with numerous high IF publications and a history of obtaining grants. This particular program will give you none of that. I can honestly not think of a single job in psychology at the masters level or above that this program would open doors for. It's not licensable, so you can't make money there, and no tenure track position would even consider an application from this institution. For a faculty research/teaching position, this degree is a n0n-starter.

No problem, might be worth perusing some of the sticky threads above about doctoral applicants to get an idea of the clinical psych world. If you have further questions about training and careers within clinical psych after that, feel free to ask on the board.
