I just assumed they they all make around the same. Unless CVS, Walgreens, etc. actually CARES what school you went to?

Yeah, they do care what school you went to....The best high paying jobs for graduates come from a school called the Hawaii College of Pharmacy. Their graduates start at about 125k a year, much higher than any other school.

You got into Northeastern ? I applied there and never heard anything from them. Oh well it means that I am have been rejected there too... not a big surprise.

i never heard anything from neu too! ..ahh oh well...yeah i denno, i pretty much made my decision to go to mcp...their pharmacy program is a lot bigger than neu's. but then again, neu itself is an elite and generally popular school. however i kno they dont have many ppl in their pharm program. it's a hard decision =/ because mcp is more specialized in pharmacy..but neu is just a really fun school lol... its crazy cuz they're right down the street from each other...did u visit yet? if u did visit mcp..what did you think of the ppl there? (students/profs) and just the overall feel of the environment?

I think Northeastern is a more prestigious school. They have higher rankings and they offer co-op. Do hiring managers in retail pharmacies care what schools you go to? or experience? or as long as your registered?

I know two CVS pharmacy district managers in the PA state....and they are the ones who do the hiring for CVS...and NOpe....according to them- school doesn't matter....Gpa doesn't matter--Just pass the NAPLEX....they are looking for able people who can handle the Job-the responsibilties, are dependable and deal well with stress...
🙂 👍

But then again....there may be other employers who do care about these...and in some schools you will definitely have greater oppurtunities...and that can make a difference in what you start out at

How can a manager tell if someone is dependable, responsible, ability to deal with stress just by reading a resume/interview?

Because after you graduate, you'll have to work there.

Caverject, you rock! Great advice for this situation 🙂

Oooh, and Zerox, be sure to tell any admissions comittee and any potential employers that you are ONLY interested in the money, you really could care less about the profession. They just LOVE to hear that. Oh, and also include what you've posted in other threads about pharmacy being soooo much easier than other health professions.

...and you better get yourself a bunch of malpractice insurance, too

Didn't you know almost all district pharmacy managers have telepathic powers? Just kidding my man....Actually, in all seriousness, they call Ms Cleo for background checks.

that of course, begs the question of whether you graduate.

My friend told me that pharmacy school was easy and alot of people graduate without really trying. Its not as hard as engineering or med school.
