Does Feinberg look at every secondary application or will they just set an arbitrary GPA and MCAT cutoff for applications that are read?

TheUglyOne said:Just wanted to let you all know, I got my interview two weeks ago. My application was complete on around August 10, and I got an interview about two weeks after. My GPA is 3.85 and my MCAT score is 31. Hope this helps someone!!!
VFrank said:Do you guys think one of the reasons my application is being reviewed so slowly is because I'm an Northwestern undergrad? I mean, I've been complete for five weeks, I can still access my status page, and I haven't heard anything either way -- and none of my NU friends have heard anything either. I'm thinking maybe it's because basically every NU premed undergrad applies to NU medical school, so maybe they have a seperate (perhaps more rigorous) screening process for us because we are so many ... ???
Anyone have any thoughts?

Arb said:So it's for sure that you are rejected if you can't access your application page?
LauraMac said:i just got an interview today! woohoo! you would all hate me if you knew my stats. well, they're in that link anyway, so i got a 30 on the MCAT and have a 3.63 GPA (3.73 BCPM). i also have very average ECs. i wonder what i did to get this interview. so very weird...
to all others with interviews, if you have stats like mine, what did you do in your app to make you stand out?
Mr. Seeds said:Congrats on the interview. There must be something about your app that really sets it apart. I've been complete for almost 2 months now... I'm fully expecting a rejection. I might call them tomorrow just to see what's up.

An Yong said:not necessarily, i was complete 8/10 and i just got an invite tonight. don't lose hope heh
Mr. Seeds said:Is anyone able to access NU status page right now? I'm not sure if I just got axed. It pops an error that the data source did not establish a connection or some such nonsense. It would seem weird that someone is handing out rejections at 1 a.m., (considering I just checked an hour ago and could get in).
Anyone else having this problem?
rockstar2525 said:Just an FYI, I was complete there for almost seven weeks before they gave me an interview invite. I checked my status page every few days and it was always working. Over eight weeks after I sent the application they emailed me the interview invite. C'mon guys, don't freak out after one week.
RunMimi said:NU was actually my most favorite interview because of the group work. My two fellow interviewees were awesome people and it was really interesting to hear other people's responses. It made me think though that we all come across about the same in an interview situation (unless there are serious problems). I guess seasoned itnerviewers can tell the difference. Anyways, it was a really good experience.
rockstar2525 said:To all of you who are complete and waiting--hang in there. They are probably just waiting for the perfect moment to pop the big question, "will you interview with us?" I bet they looked at your applications and thought, these applicants are too special to interview on any ordinary interview day, we'll save them for a very special interview day, which is not for a few more wekks. I'm sure that is the reason for the delay. 😀
