I have been offered an interview at Northwestern and am thinking about not going. I already have an acceptance (not to my first choice, but NU is obviously not my first choice either). I was wondering what people have thought about Northwestern. What are its strong suits? What didn't you like? Any advice?

I say go!!!! NU wasn't very high on my list either, prior to my interview, but I LOVED it. I think that their curriculum is really well thought-out -- it's an organ-based approach, and the lectures are really well tied together with the PBL sessions. It's in a beautiful part of Chicago, and the students were happier and cooler there than at any of the other schools at which I've interviewed. The facilities are top-notch and the hospital is (almost too) nice. Overall, I'd say give it a shot. Worst case scenario, you'll come away with great interview experience.

decline it, maybe they'll offer me one 🙂

you should just go. you might like it a lot.

If I were you I would go as long as I could afford it. The medical school is in downtown Chicago and there are so many things to do there. Go visit the city and have fun time there while visiting Northwestern (as you could see I am a big fan of the city of Chicago). Here are some of the things that I liked when I visited there. The curriculum is very innovative and you only have two hours of lecture everyday and everything else is small group, pbl, or lab. Their hosptial is amazing and you will get to see whole wide variety of patients there. NU hospital is the only hosptial for downtown Chicago. They are top 15 when it comes to residency selection (that was what I was told). I was surprised with what NU had to offer.

Yes, come visit. It is a great place to be. Northwestern wasn't really on my radar when I was applying. After interviewing here it was easily one of my top choices.

I liked it so much I ended up coming here. Plus if you get accepted they will fly you out for second look weekend which is a weekend of partying and sight seeing in Chicago on their tab(well...my tab since i'm sure some of my tuition covers it).
