NORTHWESTERN'S problem - my vent...

so i started 'med-skool' couple of weeks ago and i'm sorely disappointed at the lack of female hotties in my class - in fact, me and roughly around 15 guys in the class have already **tched about not having any potential significant others due to lack of physical attraction to any of the females in our year....i know this sounds bad, but in all honesty - physical attraction towards a partner is a HUGE part of a relationship (don't give me that 'beauty is skin deep crap' - although it's true, who wouldn't want someone beautiful) A lot of the guys were looking forward to dating people inside our class - in fact, some were looking forward to possibly marrying someone in the same field as us who shares our compassion for medicine (especially since this is the time of our lives that we are supposed to be finding our future spouse, if we hadn't already found them) And if you think i'm being a 'chauvinistic pig' for writing this, then you really need to realize what's going on. I know for a fact that a significant portion of med students who first enter med school are looking for the 'lookers' within the group - another evidence is during orientation when all the 2nd year guys (especially the single ones) are already labeling whose 'potential' and whose not within the oncoming class...

anyways, wondering if any of the first years out there felt disappointed at the selection of the other sex in their school......looks like i'll be dating women outside of med school.....anyone know any good single bars in Chi-town!

in all seriousness, are you sure you've taken a good look around you? maybe northwestern is different, but there are lots of attractive people in my class at uci. we are definitely a better than average looking bunch if i do say so myself 😉. maybe you are looking for the wrong things in a girl? what do you consider attractive? usually people grow on me, you know? like they may not seem particularly attractive at first glance, but as you get to know them, their uniqueness and personality make them more attractive.

wow, perish the thought.....he's actually placing some value on physical traits in a potential mate, what a bastard. maybe you'd consider the outside possiblity that he's actually not physically attracted to anyone in his class before placing him on the level of larry flynt? 🙄

the feeling i've gotten from a few of the females is that there isnt, i quote, "much to work with" amongst the Y chromosome population here....but somehow i dont think people here will be rushing to call them shallow.........

Yeah, but most people do that or get engaged prior to leaving for med school b/c they're just scared of not being able to find someone later on. I call this the military theory. What a waste ... of course, what would you want with such a skittish little twit anyway?

Well, I'm married, so that takes care of that. But, I'm in SoCal, so there is definitely no shortage of hotties in and out of school.

However, why would you want to date someone whom, if it all goes bad, you'll be staring at for the next FOUR YEARS.

hehe i wouldn't want to date someone in my class anyway, but definitely our class has plenty of attractive people.. Not to mention the other schools (grad, nursing, imaging, etc). For what its worth, our class survey showed the majority of our class was single. (and for Sacrament: that over 27% of us masticated at least once per day!).

one of our 2nd years is complaining since our class didn't live up to the expectations set by the class before us. then again, he did all his complaining to one of the lookers in our class who has a bf. he is VERY quickly picking up a rep as a prick which I will back but for different reasons.

then again, the class before us is a very high maintenance, girly type while I would say the lookers in my class are much more natural. guess it just depends on what type you are looking for in a mate. 😉 (oh wait, I just realized I'm in TX, no wonder there is a preference to the 2nd years.....😀)

Are you sure you haven't taken a closer look at some of the girls? I don't go to NUMS, but one of my friends from undergrad just started there as an M1, and she's hotter than the sun. I think she's taken too, BUT any guy would take two looks at her. She's gorgeous.
