I started the PharmCAS application process in July with every intention of being able to start pharmacy school Fall 2016. Starting the process I knew that I would be finishing up my classes by Spring 2016. However, I did not anticipate not being able to register for a class that I need because it filled up too quickly.

Frustratingly enough I do not foresee there being any chance that I can be put into this class that I need. Adding to this, I also won't be able to take this class in the summer and still be able to attend pharmacy school. The school I want to go to requires classes to be finished by Spring 2016.

I have everything that I need completed with my application; I haven't submitted it yet because I recently took the PCAT. My question deals with what I need to do about my LORs. I have three LORs and I would like to have these same references come next application cycle. When I originally asked for my LORs, it was via email, texting, and phone calls because I no longer work or live in the same area as they do.

How should I go about handling this situation? Should I wait until it is closer to the next cycle or should I go ahead and explain the situation, re-ask, and then remind them closer to the next cycle?

Thank you very much!

There has to be another school somewhere close by that offers the same class .. If that's the ONLY class you need and it's going to defer you a whole academic year then I say bite the bullet and take the class anywhere you can!!

The class I need is structured differently than the closest school to me so it wouldn't work; not to mention that other school is two hours away from where I am. Its also really not a class I care to take online even if that was possible. It's frustrating trust me. Thanks for your input though, I appreciate it.

I suggest you explain the situation to them and let them know you will be applying 2016-2017 cycle. I believe they will understand. Best of luck! 🙂
