Sorry if this has been asked before -- my googling and searching here hasn't turned up a good answer:
My question is about LORs. If I have four letters assigned to each program, but they are not yet all uploaded by September 15th, what happens when I submit my ERAS and my file gets transmitted to programs?
My current understanding is that my application gets transmitted to the programs with however many letters are on file at the moment, and they'll review as is, or hold the file until the rest of the letters arrive, based on the program.

But what happens when the rest of my letters are uploaded? Do the programs automatically get the remainder of the letters to complete my file for (further) review? Do they have to manually download my records from ERAS again? Or do I have to notify each program individually somehow that the remainder of my letters are in?

Thanks in advance!

Every time a program logs into ERAS, everything about every applicant is automatically downloaded. So when you get a new LOR, or your transcript is uploaded, or your Step 2 score gets released, they will know the next time they log in.

Do NOT email programs to tell them a LOR is now available, unless you want to annoy them to the point that they decide not to invite you.
