Hey everyone. I applied to a couple of P.A programs in Miami but was deemed not competitive enough. I still haven't heard from Dade but as of now I'm not really having much hope. Obviously I want to apply for next year but I have to do something that will make me more competitive for when I reapply. I have a 3.5 gpa from UM, shadowing experience, volunteering but no actual patient contact. I was considering going back to UM to do an accelerated RN/BSN program which is 1 year and at least have another degree. I'm not sure if this is the best route since it is quite $$ and my ultimate goes isn't to be a nurse. Does anyone have any input? Thank you all, I'm not really sure which route to take

What is your degree in? Do the schools in your area put an emphasis on high quality, patient care, health care experience? What is your Science GPA? What was your shadow experience?

Also ask yourself are you willing to move out of state. Are you willing to work in the trenches of medicine for 1-2 years to get high quality down and dirty direct patient HCE.

That should get you started?
