Can anyone here who didn't MEMORIZE BRS Phys and who took Step I comment on phys?

I have read through BRS Phys once, but I really don't want to do it again. Also, I don't think I'll have it memorized at all to the degree that I have MEMORIZED BRS Path.

I guess that brings a second question...aside from QBank and First Aid and BRS Path, do you think it is essential to have MEMORIZED anything else 100%?

I'm really curious what most people mean when they say they go through, say, BRS phys. Does that mean just sitting down for 2 days and reading it, or does that mean going through it until you have it memorized >90% ?

peace!

Physiology is not a subject that lends itself to memorization as much as path (although path requires a fundamental understanding of the disease process) therefore it would not be beneficial to memorize a book like BRS Physio as opposed to understanding it.

When I read it, I took it at a slow but steady pace and tried to understand and absorb the material, while annotating First Aid physio sections. After that, Qbank helped with application of the knowledge. Pay attention to graphs and make sure you understand the why/how behind those processes. Doing pathophys questions from Qbank helps as well.
