Not exactly a "what are my chances?"

Only two small pieces of advice, although I am by no means an expert. I think Case likes to see a lot of research, so I'm not sure how competitive you would be. Also, Oregon takes mostly in-state and getting OOS can be extremely difficult if I remember correctly.

Best of luck and awesome job on bringing your GPA up!

Case let me in as a one-year research assistant with no pubs, so I wouldn't rule it out.👍

Thanks for the advice 🙂, I know its a numbers game with Oregon, but they still have a higher OOS class composite % than most, about 30% according to the latest MSAR. I miss the Pacific NW though, and would love to live in Portland.

You've done a great job of bringing up your uGPA. Other than Case, which is a reach for you stats-wise, I think your list is quite reasonable. I think you'll do very well with your application season assuming enthusiastic LORs, an intriguing PS, and good interview skills.

Great, thanks for the advice. I plan on submitting the 1st day we can. I'll keep my mdapps updated and I'll update here for anyone who is interested a 3.4's application process.😀

Its a good list for your stats but I would still advise against oregon. They give high preference to wiche and in states. They do accept OOS but still they are not as friendly as other schools you did not list such as evms who also accepts a large number of OOS

I consider Oregon one of my "reach schools" (like most of them aren't 🙄)
But actual numbers wise, according to the 09-10 msar Oregon's OOS applicants composed 31.4% of the class and EVMS's OOS applicants composed 33% of the class, 37 and 38 students respectively. And according to their website they give preference to "WICHE-Certified applicants from Montana and Wyoming", not all wiche states (just like CO).

Just updated to show that anything is possible even with "meh" stats. I hope that this helps relieve some of the stress for those in a similar situation.

<- Check out the MDapps

Side note: My clinical experience was HUGE in this cycle. It was brought up in everyone of my interviews and was talked about extensively. I would say that this was the one thing that made my app stand out.

Best of luck to everyone!! :luck:
