ORM, South Asian immigrant, immigrated to the US 2018. US citizen.

Disadvantage, Female, NY resident, First generation immigrant, ESL, Very low SES

GPA: 3.92 from NYU high honors, latin honors

MCAT: 511 (130/123/131/127)

should I retake? Idk if I could improve CARS honestly. I never got below 125 on CARS and can’t believe it)

Clinical: 1200 hours MA in gap year, 800 projected
50 hours ER volunteer, 50 hour shadowing

Research: 1600 hour, 5th author pub, 5 posters including national, very strong letter, leadership, honors thesis, high honors

Leadership: 180 hours college advisor, 75 hours sorority board, 75 hours mentorship in research

No clinical:150 hours food pantry and citizenship tutoring

immigrated to the us 7 years ago, US citizen, learned english then hence the low cars i guess. Full time caregiver to Disabled mom who got sick in the middle of college. Suffered from housing crisis in college.

My PS is based on language barriers in medicine and experience with my mom’s sickness.

Given all of that, do I stand a chance for MD? Or should I retake? Please be brutally honest. Thanks!
