Hi Folks,

I just wanted some advice on my situation. I'm an undergrad right now taking prereqs for grad school. One summer I took the first quarter of the ochem series at an undergraduate university other than my own because they were not offering that class at mine. I ended up getting a D+ in lecture and B in lab. I retook the class at my own university and got a C in lecture and A- in lab. I wanted to know if it was possible not to put the summer class on my application. I had a similar situation where I decided to take a couple classes at another university but dropped them half way through because of work related issues. I ended up with two W's on that schools transcript. I have a 3.3 gpa right now and am leaning towards medical school (I understand that this is quite low for any medical school). It's not that I couldn't handle the course material..I just didn't study enough because I was working full time. I got an A in lecture and lab in the rest of the ochem series. Anyway, I'd like some advice on what to do about this. Should I just not put these other classes from other schools on my application or is it wiser to put them and explain the circumstances? I don't want to do anything shady that might jeopardize me getting into any medical schools anywhere (US, carribean, D.O).

Thanks

Sorry to break it to you, but I don't have a choice about reporting grades, AMCAS wants and expects ALL college courses you have ever taken and grade received, (if any). One thing u never want to do in this process and beyond is to deceive/mislead, IF u need to explain grades, u can do it in ur primary or secondaries.

goodluck

You have no choice about what classes you will or will not list. Yes, you can just not put in classes on AMCAS but they'll be added when your entries are cross-checked with your transcript. And they WILL backtrace you.

Yup, this. OP you don't want to do this and then a few months down the line get a call from an adcom telling you Ya Dun Goof'd.
