Alright, I had a day to think about this and I can't figure out what to do. I got an acceptence letter and I'm looking at all the papers and I come across a course registration application. However, It's all ready filled out by someone else. This is just not a registration sheet, It has very personal information on it: Social security number, name, address, etc., just about everything about this other person that is not me.

I know the school messed up in a big way and this type of thing is not normal. But what should I do? It looks bad that the school can make careless mistakes like this and send me someone's personal information. Not to mention if the other person finds out the school gave me someone elses information they could be sued? (not sure about school privacy laws) Has this ever happened to anyone? I dunno, some advice would be helpful. And I did not mention this is the school I really want to go to.😕

Well, this was a careless mistake probably made by one tired person working very late one night. I wouldn't consider it a representation of the entire school. If I were you, I'd call the school immediately, let them know what happened, and they'll tell you what to do from there.

mistakes happen, especially when stuffing hundreds of envelopes. that doesn't make it ok, but mistakes are bound to happen. put the filled out registration form through the shredder and request a new one from the school if it's something that you need to fill out.

But what if that registration from was someone else's that hasn't been filed yet? That's gonna suck if John Doe's stuff isn't prepared because of the mistake.

I'd say call them first, maybe they will simply ask you for his name so they can contact him, then tell you to shred it. Then again they may ask you to send it back to them so they don't get in trouble, I don't know.

Yea, and by the looks of this sheet this person is working on their Ph.D. Making this registration form very important. I'm just glad this was not sent to some werido.

Wow that really blows. Just keep it until they tell ya what to do with it.

Or call the dude and collaborate a huge lawsuit scheme... Maybe get yourself some med school money....

(Just kidding by the way)
