I am struggling. I have failed a few classes but have always been able to bring my grade up. This past semester (2nd year) I failed a class. It has been very hard...I am an ok student but have found all of this very difficult. I would have to take the class again along with my regular class load. Not sure if I should keep going or just give it up? Is it worth it??? But what else would I do?
So confused right now...

Keep going. School sucks, but as long you pass you'll be on equal footing with everyone after graduation. And academics become mostly irrelevant after graduating.

The only person that can answer is it worth it is YOU. What class did you fail and why? Talk to the professor of the class perhaps giving you a make up ?
If you're going to come out with 200-250K in debt you got an uphill battle facing your finances. I do not know how these young ODs with over 250K in debt are able to pay back these loans? I say this to you because Optometric salaries have been STAGNANT and in many places gone down with regard to cost of inflation and buying power.
If I were you hang in there and keep going. The hey days of making a lot of money in this profession are GONE. I don't care what others might believe or negate but I'm telling you the truth.
Talk to the Dean or anyone and show sincerity and assertiveness as to your dedication and goal of becoming an OD.
