Hey,

I am going to be a senior in the fall and was originally going to take the MCAT august, but I've been having second thoughts on what profession I want to do. I was recently looking up some info about dental school and became interested in it. I am gonna try and shadow a dentist to help me see if I like that route. My question is, is it bad to take both the MCAT and DAT? I want to take the MCAT just in case I change my mind about being a dentist... Does it look bad on my application if I take both?

AADSAS do not ask any question regarding whether you took the MCAT. But it does ask whether you've applied to any other health related schools.

Hopefully this change of heart isn't because you think Dentistry is easier!
Shadow a dentist first then look around to see if any dental schools in your area offer pre-dent classes. Some dental school have classes on teeth carving, etc.
Sit through those classes and see how you like them.
Then make an informed decision about whether you want to take the DAT or the MCAT!
