No real extracurriculars. The same things...hosp volunteering, Executive board position, some research, shadowing in the works. Thinking about doing americorps(I probably will...if I get it...which I should pretty handily right?).

What do I do? I'm not an Olympic champion, gpa is mediocre(like 3.5) and still haven't taken mcat. I'm going 4th yr.

I'm pretty unique relative to most people around me, I have 3rd degree burns on my body, a stab wound, I survived a sinking boat(small wooden boat, had a hole and it was far from mainland). Too bad medical schools don't care about that.

Anyways, enough QQ, give me some pewpew and help me get into med school! :xf:

Did and of the bolded things play a role in helping you want to become a doctor, or help you to become a person that would be a better physician? You could probably talk about those in a personal statement or secondary essay, even if they aren't ECs.

Just an idea.

Yeah thought about it, but it was all coincidental and it was when I was a child. I had no role in saving the sinking boat(except maybe putting pressure on adults so they could save poor old me). Burns weren't on my face or legs sound were pretty much covered so almost no one knows about it. Stab wound was because someone was throwing scisscors and I was in the right place at the right time.

Lol that's pretty funny, but it's possible that my name could be Bobbi and I am actually a woman. I can be shady in case my other post didn't profile me too much.

Anyways, I need some pew pew for medical schools. Lets focus 🙂

Start prepare for mcat, continue to volunteer and apply next cycle. If u do well on mcat , get perfect 4.0 the next 2 semesters and have 1+ year of volunteer, you should be solid applicant.

What are post bacc courses? I don't have room if I wanna graduate on time, the. I still have to take some biology courses after I graduate( is that considered post bac?).

I didn't see that you said you are incoming 4 th year but yeah, i think there is no need for post bacc or americorp ( if you plan do it just to get ECs) right now. It rly depend on how you do on the mcat. Focus on getting those As and ace the Mcat and doors will open.

Heard that's very hard to get into, and I dont want to TA for my Chem E classes(I hate Chem e and I cant drop out now since im basically done). Add to that most of these douches are so cocky and annoying "look at me I'm Chem e im a genius"...although its not as bad as the premeds I've met.
