Hey, just wanted everyone's opinion. I know it doesn't really matter since I'm going to be calling the school tomorrow, but I'm dying here!!! FishHick said that she was #32 and got in off the waitlist at Ohio. My waitlist # was before #32, but haven't heard anything yet. Should I be worried??? Maybe they don't contact everyone in order. Maybe they never got my response letter that I wanted to be on the waitlist. Maybe they start from #100 and go down to #1!!! Arrrggghhh!!! Like I said, this probably has no relevance to anyone out there, but just wanted any opinions on the situation. This is gonna be the most sleepless night of my life.

I know that Minnesota keeps separate in-state and out-of-state waitlists... perhaps that's the case at Ohio as well? Don't be afraid to call the admin office if you have questions!

You sure that you two are on the same list (meaning both non contract out of state?) if so then call and make sure they have you response card and ask what the significance of the number is. I know that four years ago when I was accepted off the wait list (non contract out of state) they called the list in ascending order, although I do not remember having to respond to them until after I was actually accepted. It was a card that basically had check boxes (I am coming, here's my check, or thank you but I am not coming). This came after they called me and was sent with an official acceptance letter in the mail.

I checked with FishHick before posting this originally. She's a out of state from Michigan (OSU only has WV as a contract state). I'm an out of state as well. Thanks for your replies.

As other people mentioned, you might want to call Student Affairs and see what the deal is. Maybe they aren't strictly following the list or something... They certainly understand how stressful the process is so I'm sure they won't mind you looking for info.

You should definitely call. I'm pretty sure they follow the waitlist numbers and you certainly don't want to miss out.

I'm sorry that this is screwy for you, I'm sure it is really hectic. But if you find out what is going on, can you post it? I'm number 33, so if they are going in order and just messed up yours or something let us know

Hey everyone, here's the scoop. I called this morning and they couldn't tell me if I was in or not (not sure why), but assured me that they do accept off the waitlist in order...so, I 95% sure I am in if FishHick got in at #32. I also made certain that they did get my card regarding accepting my spot on the waitlist. I guess they admit in order, but they don't contact in order?? I dunno what to think, well, as long as I still have my position, I'm fine. During this whole admissions process, I've learned a thing or two about patience!

Animal Allergy, nothing yet. I dunno about this whole situation... either OSU is skipping around (and they said they aren't) or FishHick is mistaken. Or they're just taking their time notifiying people. Either way, I'm sitting patiently. I will let you know.

Wow, my heart goes out to you!!! I know I hate calling Ohio State, but maybe it'd be worth calling again in a few days just to see if maybe it was lost in the mail? It's a tough decision, I know!!!!

Frisky, thanks for the concern. I don't think I'll call them again, at least not yet. Even if they are skipping around, what can I do about. If they want me... they'll let me know. Secondly, I really don't know FishHick from the next SDN member, so I can't call them again and not know for certain that #32 got in before me. Could be just someone messing with ppl on the OSU waitlist (my apologies FishHick, if you're a real person out there, no offense).

Did you try checking your OSU status page? When I was accepted it changed to "Decision" before I recieved the email...

OK, so i figured this out. Greg emailed me and he said they have gotten through number 23 on the out of state waitlist, not 32. Does that make moer sense?
