Due to some scheduling issues that have just come up, it looks like I won't be able to take one of the classes that I listed on my "future coursework" section of AMCAS. The class is bioethics -- it's not a pre-requisite for any of my medical schools, but just a fun/interesting class that I wanted to take. I know that AMCAS says the current/future coursework is "not binding." But I'm just wondering if anybody has had personal experience with this or if anybody is in the same situation. Should I notify all of my schools? Update letter? Do you think it will have a negative impact?

If the reasoning is okay and you're taking another non req course, what's the difference?

I listed a non-prereq course as "current/future" that I did not end up taking. I did not notify any schools, though I did ask one of the schools from which I received an acceptance whether it would matter and I was told that it did not affect their offer.

So: I wouldn't bother. It won't have any impact on your app.

Actually, I won't be able to take a different course to replace it. I'll just be taking one less course than I thought/said I would be taking.

Hypothetically speaking, if you were a declared double major in say, soc/chem at the time of application but has since dropped the chem major, that wouldn't matter either?
