I know there was a post before about "not yet taken/to be completed" courses in primary app... if you should included in the app or not but I cant find that post.
Ill be starting the certificate program at pcom and I dont know if i should apply now and include "not yet taken/to be completed" classes in the app.
If aacom does not receive the grades for thoses classes, do they not process it and not sended out to the schools?
Am i going to considered as a "late applicant" eventhough I completed my primary in Aug? When am i going to get my secondary then?
Please help!

"not yet taken" just get listed on the app. it does not hold up your application in any way. so you should list the classes you will take and submit now. you'll get your secondaries. if and when you do get grades for those classes later you can update your aacomas profile or send transcripts to the schools directly.

I'm curious...do courses with "NYT" identifiers NOT get counted in the GPA?

"Not yet taken" courses do not get counted in the gpa calculation. in fact, if you list that you plan to re-take a class, even the original grade will not get counted in the gpa even though the new score isn't available yet. its pretty nice like that. but i'm guessing if you do list classes and your gpa changes because of you're listing future or current re-takes, schools will hold you to it, and expect to see those grades eventually. so if you at all intend to re-take a class, you should list it on your app and designate not yet taken or currently taking. also, if you're missing prereqs, you can let adcoms know you're taking care of those as well by listing them.

I dont even know the course numbers for the classes Ill be taking this year.
The only ones I know are the two classes ill be taking this trimester at PCOM.
So, are you guys saying I should forward aacom the two grades after this trimester and do that two more times later?
That means the schools will get ALL of my grades in May or June (when my certificate program ends)... so ill get the responses from the schools then???

My undergrad gpa is pretty low (below 3.0) but my mcat is higher than average, 27. Therefore, im highly depended on these post-bacc grades.

I'm sure you can find the course numbers by either (1) looking up the courses on PCOM's website or (2) contacting PCOM.

no. you will hear from schools earlier if you list that you're taking pre-reqs and if you have any low grades, its better that they're not counted towards your gpa, and the only way to allow that to happen is by listing them. a good friend of mine had a 2.60 science gpa at the beginning of this summer, but this person re-took 4 classes during the summer and listed to take 4 more during the school year... the net effect was that his 2.60 was processed on AACOMAS as a 3.4 because even though they didn't have any of the grades for those 8 classes being taken now, the old grades didn't count since the re-take was listed as "not yet taken". think about that, 2 F's, 3D's, and 3 C's are no longer being counted towards this person's gpa. also when this person's grades do come in, they'll send them to the schools, but in the mean time, they're getting processed without being penalized for the bad grades... this person already has 2 interviews scheduled. if you only have a couple classes missing, schools will still evaluate you. point of the story, always submit early and give as much info as you can.
