I spent a few hours today updating the database at MDapplicants.com to accomodate what has become the most epidemic complaint: the site listing you as rejected when you're not actually.

So, now, when you update your profile, there are two new checkboxes: MD/PhD and Rejected. MD/PhD is self-explanatory - you can now indicate whether an application is for an MD/PhD/MSTP program. If you leave the Rejected, Accepted, and Withdrew checkboxes blank, the site will now assume you are waiting for news and display that appropriately on your profile.

I'm making a news posting about this because I globally reset the entire database - if you weren't accepted or withdrawn before, you're now rejected in the site; I needed to do this to all the applications prior to 2004/2005 that won't be updated any further manually. If you're a 2004 or 2005 or future applicant, the next time you update your profile, you'll have to uncheck the "Rejected" boxes next to each application and then it'll indicate the proper state of waiting for you.

Or not. It might have bugs. Let me know if something doesn't look right ([email protected] or this thread) 🙂

Oh, also, you can now search MCAT scores by individual section.

Awesome 🙂 Thanks!

Btw, what's your stance on us 2005ers starting our profiles? I wasn't going to make one because you ask us not to do it until we are finished on the sign up page. Is this policy no longer in place since no one seems to respect it?

I ask people not to make one unless they're definitely going to update it with at least their final decisions. If you fill one out and don't click the "I'm finished with my application cycle." box at the end, it pops up a little alert box that tells you to please please please come back and update it if you're going to put an incomplete one on the site.

Is there a way that you can make an option so that the ones that aren't finished being updated won't show up in searches?

xaelia, thanks a lot for your work. great site.

It's pretty f***in' awesome...if you don't mind me saying.

You're the best.
