I spent a few hours today updating the database at MDapplicants.com to accomodate what has become the most epidemic complaint: the site listing you as rejected when you're not actually.
So, now, when you update your profile, there are two new checkboxes: MD/PhD and Rejected. MD/PhD is self-explanatory - you can now indicate whether an application is for an MD/PhD/MSTP program. If you leave the Rejected, Accepted, and Withdrew checkboxes blank, the site will now assume you are waiting for news and display that appropriately on your profile.
I'm making a news posting about this because I globally reset the entire database - if you weren't accepted or withdrawn before, you're now rejected in the site; I needed to do this to all the applications prior to 2004/2005 that won't be updated any further manually. If you're a 2004 or 2005 or future applicant, the next time you update your profile, you'll have to uncheck the "Rejected" boxes next to each application and then it'll indicate the proper state of waiting for you.
Or not. It might have bugs. Let me know if something doesn't look right ([email protected] or this thread) 🙂
Oh, also, you can now search MCAT scores by individual section.
