Are you speaking of a state health service corps contract? I tried to get out of one a year early and they said that was fine, I just have to pay $180,000 (they only gave me $90,000 in the first place for a 3 year commitment) so I had to complete the 3 years

Are you talking about the NHSC scholarship payback? If so, Signing up for those things is kinda like signing up for the military. It’s great cause they are going to pay for your school, but you gotta go where they need you after school or you are going to be in some deep trouble. If you signed up for that then you shouldn’t expect to choose where you want to live as most places that have a high enough need for dentists are in remote/rural areas.

Thank you. Did you provide a compelling reason why you want to get out of it? Have you started working and then wanted to get out or before even joining any site?

I was year 2/3 and didn’t want to deal with the politics anymore. Had a chance to join an implant DSO, obviously not compelling enough
