The administrators have already shut down several threads discussing DAT questions seen on previous exams. While I disagree with you that the website should be shut down, members should be aware that posting those questions is a violation of the TOS and ADEA regulations regarding the DAT. If you see a thread that violates any of the rules, why not click the "report a post" icon and tell an administrator. They can't be around 24/7 to monitor these forums. Why not help them out a little?

I have finieshed my dental school and I feel so bad for the people who are paying 1000s of 1000s of dollars for their tuitions and still strugeling to pass their NBDE exams. and now there is a way to studying easier, people like you want to prevent it. you are nothing but ....

Let's assume that the statement made by aphitis is correct to the letter of the law. I am wondering if by extension of the logic it is a violation of copyright law to discuss any literary work including the materials we find in dental textbooks?

This is correct. It is not just a matter of law, but a matter of the non-disclosure agreement that you make. When you begin the test, you agree not to reveal the test content and agree that you have not studied unreleased questions. If you do you are violating copyright law and sacrificing your integrity.

This agreement is necessary because they can't just stop "recycling" questions. Reusing old questions allows them to establish a baseline performance of a group of candidates. Then they can ensure that new questions are fair by checking that performance on the new questions is in line with what is predicted by the baseline performance.

I haven't seen anybody come out here and say that anything was specifically on the DAT. I've seen questions about what I assume are practice test questions. I think there is a problem if someone says "i just took the dat and this question came up."

I don't think that there is anything wrong with asking what is on the test, or a breakdown of what the questions were. The ada and the dat don't have a copyright on the subject or theme of each question.

"Yeah I had to know this formula, that equation, more about the nervous system and circular system and less about intracellullar comunication." This is basically what they tell you in the study guides.

If someone asks for help on a question it doesn't necessarily mean that it was on the DAT. And the ADA would be the only entity that could prove it, not you.
