Hey SDNers. So I've been hosting a private debate in my head and I was wondering what you all think I should do.
My sGPA is undoubtedly the weakest link on my application, it being a mere 3.25. However, the good news is that I'm not a science major so I haven't taken too many science classes and that this semester I took 13 credits worth of science courses which really has a huge potential to move my sGPA. So far I've gotten 9 credits worth of As and I'm just waiting for that last grade to come in. Therefore I'm really happy that it looks as if my sGPA will be moving upwards to around the 3.35 neighborhood. In addition to ending my college career on an upwards trend, it also says that I can handle a heavy science load.
So here's the thing. I'm obviously very excited to show dental schools my fall grades but I'm worried that by the time my last grade comes in and I get my university to send AADSAS my updated transcript and for AADSAS to have it sent to all the D Schools I'm applying to, the schools will have already sent out most of their second wave of interviews/acceptances/rejections and they wouldn't have had the opportunity to consider my application along with my updated transcript.
What should I do?! I'm really considering calling all of the Dental Schools I'm applying to and telling them my fall semester grades (once I find out what that last grade is). I don't know whether I'm over analyzing things or not but I really feel that I can give myself a bigger chance if dental schools know my grades before Dec.1 deposits are due!!
Thanks in advance.
