Anybody care to comment on the lifestyle at these two schools. I interviewed at both for speciality program and thinking about ranking them high.
worries for UF is that its such a college town for a 28 year old single guy
for Nova, just hear all the girls are fake and gold diggers.
thanks

are you serious!!!??

Don't stereotype the south floridian females.

Everyone is not a gold digger and fake....you can find that in any place....If you are looking for quality you will find quality...honestly i think your chances for finding a female is good both places

At UF, you have a large population of young girls...most single looking to hook up or commitment. Great place to be.....game days are the best.....There is a good amount of older students there...don't forget they have really good grad and professional programs which pull alot of people.

In South Florida...you will have your pick...it is a very diverse place in every aspect. People of different ages are here....there are probably more around 28 people here but overrall it is a nice mix.

There are beautiful women at both locations so don't make that an issue.

ditto.

Well, College towns are good and bad. Cheaper to live and younger people. Not so many cultural things like Museums, Concerts, Pro Sports, etc. South Florida.... expensive but close to Miami. UF is far better school for everything you can find at Nova. In fact, UF has a large student body from South Florida and Miami area. Ft. Lauderdale is nice but it is bordering pretentious. Did I mention expensive.

UF has a larger student body in a concentrated area.....

In south florida you have NSU, barry university, St. Thomas University, Florida Int'l University, and University of Miami. However, at UF everyone lives in a small concentrated area in South florida close means anywhere from 15-30 mins away...People don't live on campus or necessarily very near to the campus so you are less likely to run into people who are attending college.....kinda of like ur chances of finding an s electron in the d area. less likely to happen unless something causes a change. good luck trying to snag a lady.

I am currently a dental student at UF and I can say that an older student will have nothing to do other than concentrate on school here. I am in my 30's and feel very old in this town. I drive to visit friends in Orlando and Tampa to get out of town and have also discovered I can be in Atlanta in 4.5 hrs.
The school is good here and about HALF the cost of Nova.
I also can afford my 3 bed 2 bath house here and could never by anything this big in the Ft. Lauderdale area. I sometime wish i went to Nova but always think about the $300,000 in student loans from Nova as compared to the $150,000 in student loans from UF.

I reside in the Ft. Lauderdale-Davie area and attend NSU. I lived in a "college town" during undergrad and I have found the transition to Ft. Lauderdale very favorable. I live minutes (.5 mile) from the university and it feels like a gateway to everything. Rent is expensive, 1,500 for two bedroom condo, 650$ for a room but usually includes good amenities, ie workout, tennis courts, carwash, etc. There are several condo and rental communities concentrated with students close to the complex of universities.

I have made it a point to enjoy the area and have enjoyed everything from Orlando, Naples, Key West, the everglades and Ft. Lauderdale beach to a Caribbean cruise. The students make sure to lighten things up at times with everything from hanging out at the beach to pub crawls. Whatever you're looking for in Ft. Laud you will surely find it, from gold diggers to genuine long lasting relationships.

Aside from that several professors at NSU are easy going, great to work with and make the experience that much better. The facilities are great and the university embraces all the new technologies.

Just follow your heart man! I did and I love it!!!👍
