i dont know who fran is... but can i email her to check on the status of my application? everytime i call, the girl (even tho she's super nice) just says "keep checking back"

no, Fran is the person you need to talk to. Jessi is nice but she is just Fran's assistant. If jessi answers the phone, kindly ask her to pass your call to Fran. Fran can look up your file and tell you what is taking them so long to call you. I did the same thing and after I spoke to Fran, she imediately invited me for an interview. A week later I was accepted 🙂

Not the greatest stats... but hey.. I MADE IT 🙂

Im waiting to hear from PCO.. I just had my interview this week

Nova's up there on my list.... but after hearing that the class is 75% full, that decreased my confidence a bit.. :S

This is also how I recieved my interview invite from Nova as well. I called the school the first week back from winter break and it just so happened that Fran picked up and she mentioned that she was just about to "re-review my file." She then asked me some questions about the courses that I am currently taking and will be taking in the future. Then she asked me if I would like to be invited for an interview and a chance to see the school.

Bottom line: I'm so glad I called the school. I get this weird feeling that had I not called them, I may not have been invited for the interview and could be still waiting to hear back today.

Its weird to hear that people are having trouble getting in contact with Nova. I just called this morning and spoke with Fran about my deposit. I called around 11AM (PST) so it was about 2 PM (EST). For those having trouble getting through, try calling around that time.

Did she say how much of the class is filled? When I spoke to her a couple of weeks ago she said that about half the class was filled...I read somewhere on here that it was about 75% full now...

The number that I call is: 954-262-1132 and this always goes directly to Fran's office. Try calling at 2PM (EST) cause that worked for me today with no problem.

rani 82, I didn't ask her how many seats are filled. I just called to make sure that my deposit went through and that my seat is confirmed.

I submitted my application back in mid October but I don't think it was complete until late December cause they were waiting for a transcript from a community college. Then I called them the first week back from winter break and that's when I was asked to come in for an interview.

I applied to Nova around mid November and my file was complete since then. However, i retook the OAT in January so the new scores really made a difference in my file. As I had mentioned earlier I called Fran to check on my app status in January and even though she did not have my new OAT scores she invited me for an interview. All went well after that.. but I was very stressed out. Can't express enough how much weight has been lifted off my shoulders now that I know I will be attending Optometry school in the fall. I totally understand everyone's frastration.. It's all worth it in the end though🙂 so hang in there.
