WPB is a multi educational and business center/building, nothing like a traditional college campus...so no campus housing. We are moving into a brand new 4-story building in Fall 2011 just for Nova students, but it will be just for classrooms, labs, library, etc. etc. You will have to find an apartment, house or whatever for living purposes.
 
Hey everyone! I had an interview at the Ft. Lauderdale campus on April 7th. Do u know how long it takes to receive an answer? Will it be thru email or mail?? Also, if you are put on the waiting list or rejected do u get an answer the same way?? Thanks guys, and good luck! 😀😀

I interviewed on April 13st and just received my acceptance letter in the mail today. That was faster than I expected. I heard it's usually 2+ weeks. Your packet is probably on its way. I will be giving my seat up at NOVA for USF COP. :soexcited: Good luck!
 
I also interviewed on April 7th and I still haven't heard anything back either, so don't worry you're not alone! I've been incredibly nervous and antsy waiting for a letter because Tracy said they would be sent out on the 21st?!? 😕 but I've got my fingers crossed !! Lol:xf:

Keep the faith. Tracy doesn't work there anymore apparently so they are probably going through some transitioning. They told me the contact now is Jessie Sutton, but she is out until Thursday.

So Tracy is out!!!! I have emailed Jessie, and I called yesterday, but her mailbox was full! 🙁🙁 dont know which is the best way to reach her.... thanks anyway

I interviewed on April 4th and I called and email Jessie this morning and she did give me a call back like an hour after. She told me over the phone that I got accepted! She said she just came back from her mini vacation and she just sent out my letter 20 mins before she called me. So hopefully yours is sent too because she did say she had a stack on her desk. Maybe give her a call back tomorrow. :xf:

Hi... I was just wondering if anyone has been accepted to NOVA in Puerto Rico?? I had an interview about one month ago... and I still haven't heard anything... should I be worried???
 
Hey guys... I was accepted to NOVA pharmacy school november 2010...🙂, I am always behind the trenches reading the comments, hope to meet many of you at the davie campus.

However, I have an issue that I have been thinking for a while, and it is regarding tuition and job prospectives...

If I have not mistaken the whole tuition thing, then, for florida residents is 25,000, or roughly 12,500 per semester, right?

I have the financial aid award letter there waiting for me to accept it, however, I have been thinking about how in the world am I going to pay 100,000+ (because of the 6.8% compounding interest rate which is I a rip-off!) when I get out of school, when there is so much pharmacists out there, and more being pumped out every year. I know some of you might say the IBR, and the like, but still a worrisome thought. what do you guys think?

I live in Hialeah 😀 (the city that progresses, and not I am not cuban 👍, I am colombian 🙂) and I have done what I call the pharmacy-drive-by, checking pharmacies around miami, and there are TONS of them! The publix, sedanos, win dixie, navarro, cvs, walgreens, etc...+ the discount pharmacies almost in every block...(just like there are dental offices everywhere, poor dentists!)...is scary...for sure will have to move somewhere close to the grand canyon...

I know, I should not be thinking about that because what it matters is becoming a pharmacist, and making dreams come true, and bla bla...but at the end of the day, money rules.

I got my BA in chemistry/biochemistry from FIU, and I have the entire summer for doing nothing, so I have looked EVERYWHERE for jobs, contacting faculty, old friends, researchers...NOTHING!, is a terrible feeling, and yes, when I extrapolate this feeling four years down the road, and visualizing myself in the same boat (plus >100,000k to pay), off course being pessimistic, is not encouraging at all.

Anyone with similar thoughts?

hey guys,

For the acceptance deposit, can I pay only the acceptance fee of $500 and pay the $500 pre-registration fee later? I was on the website to pay and it said pre-registration fee is due March 15 so I was confused. Does that mean as of right now I don't have the option of paying half and would have to pay the whole deposit of $1000?

In addition, have you received a package that requires all the paper work? Im tired of waiting :-/

You're correct...you have to pay it full now! 🙂
 
I'm in the same situation as jennyngoc00, I was accepted back in February and paid the tuition deposit in March and I still have not received any info on how to complete my file with the school, it's a little frustrating at this point.

I guess they have to catch up since Tracy is not there anymore...

Yes, sure it MUST be the NOVA email, make sure you read that one, and also on the financial aid tab in the sharklink website.

Everything has been done online. I got the Master promissory note, and it says to review stuff, and accept awards... I think I got the financial aid fast because I finished everything about financial aid like around february 😀.

Interesting, I rushed like crazy to get the funds first, now I have been afraid to accept 😳 them.
 
I am planing to apply for the Pharm D program for International Pharmacists at NOVA for the academic year 2012. I have done my Bachelor of Pharmacy (4yrs) from India and I have done my Masters in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins , USA ( 2yrs). My Undergrad GPA is 3.94 and masters GPA is around 3.88 on a scale of 4. My GRE score is 1390 and TOEFL is 115 ( Both exams taken in 2008). Can any one please guide me on how o go about the application. Do I stand a good chance? Do I need to give the PCAT?

after some navigation I was able to access my financial aid documents and email on nova's webstar system. You'll need your student id and pin (originally provided by nova).

Saludos! estoy en la misma situacion tuya! Fui entrevistada en POnce el 15 de marzo y todavia es la hora q no he recibido ningun tipo de notificacion!
 
I'm classified as an "alternate" candidate :S ... what that means??? Can I see possibilities??

Alternate means waiting list. When did you get the letter? I've been on the list since January but for FL campus though.

Ok! I get the letter on Friday, May 20, but is for Puerto Rico campus.

Hi everyone! Congrats to Everyone accepted this fall , i was wondering if anyone knows about he davie area student housing off campus, I live with my fiancee so I have to live off campus . so far Everything I have checked out is very expensive, any tips, or specific areas I should look into?

I'm going to opto school at nova and I just moved down here. Pine Island ridge is very nice. It's about 3-4 min drive to the school and there's a ton of condo's/apartments. I got a 2 BR/2BA with upgrades throughout for 1000 (includes water and cable).

Congrats to all who have been accepted! I attend PB campus..btw our new campus is beautiful so it may be a relief that you wont be attending at the same place that u interveiwed at 👍
For those wanting a roommate for Palm Beach..i will ask around-I know of a classmate that is renting out her place..3 bedroom i think- I can get more info for those interested. Dont worry about the financial aid..as long as ur fasfa is ok then they will take care of the rest when u start, but from what i remember u wont get ur loan money until a week or two after u begin.
I also have a Med Term. Book from last yr if anyone wants to buy for cheap..
I am excited to see u fellow Palmers at our Mixer! enjoy ur summer!

Last time I wasn't accepted (at least they sent a letter in the mail 🙁), but this time I am optimistic about my chances, and I have also applied to other schools just in case. I submitted my supplemental yesterday now all I have to do is wait!

Hey guys just a quick update. I called admissions and they said they are still working with orientation for the 2011 class and that they haven't got their interview process started up yet for the class of 2012. So they said that about the end of September or beginning of October is when they will start to interview (but I don't know about sending out the invites).

So just a heads up!

Can Texas Southern University push a PharmD applicant to go a an undergraduate BS in biomedical Scince to finish Pharm in 6 years instead of 4 years?
