I applied to Nova and I already finished my secondary. However I am still a little wth about that dual degree. Searches did little in clarification.

This thread implies (or I observed) that the degree is aimed towards DO's that want to serve in a public health care arena. DO's would be able to do dental work alongside a variety of other medical examinations and procedures, and allow patients a one-stop shop for all their health needs.

However this thread implies that it is just a quick way to an OMFS residency. With that dual degree you can do a 1 year residency and then be able to practice OMFS. However I would assume one would still need to do the required 4 years.
Final Clarifications? Maybe from an actual Dental student currently in the program?
