Soo.. I am kind of curious whether Nova has air conditioning.

I just checked out the weather forecast (I have an interview this week) and it is forecasting ~ 86 degrees... currently outside where I am it is 50 degrees hahah. I am going to wear a long-sleeved shirt and a blazer. What I'm wondering is for people who have interviewed at Nova:

a) was it air-conditioned?

b) did you spent any time outside?

It's kind of a funny question I know, but I really am curious! I really don't want to get there and die of heat.

Thanks for any replies.

Haha, I am curious as well. I start sweating at about 98.7 degrees.

so you're going to wear a blazer. Does anyone ever wear a suit?? I was thinking of that

I'm just starting at Nova as a D1 and all the buildings are really well air conditioned.. so as far as you're concerned you'll be find wearing a suit. You should only be outside to walk from the Terry admissions building to go tour the clinic.

If you're interested I'd be willing to get together and answer any questions you might have as best I can and show you around. PM me if interested and I'll get you my number.. same for anyone else who is interviewing..

Good luck!

If you're going to sweat your a** off in 86 degree heat then Nova probably isnt the school for you...you're going to end up sweating for 4 yrs straight LOL

Nova is about 5 minutes from Ft. Lauderdale and Ft. Laud beach- which is awesome. To get the the heart of Miami Beach and towards the South Beach area, it is about a 30 minute drive down I-95.

Hahah, I actually love hot weather. It's more the sudden transition from wearing a jacket at home to suddenly 86 degrees.. lol

Thanks for the replies!

I am from San Diego, and a D1 at Nova. There are tons of palm trees, and the weather isn't that bad. Yes it is humid, but it is really only 90 degrees so in a way it is like California, but not. Also at NOVA the AC is on SPEED. Honestly half the class wears sweaters to class because the AC is set so high. And you move from AC building to AC building. It really isn't that bad for people that are worried about wearing suits.

don't post any threads about their experiences at each place! (not restricted to SDN)

There must be a significant number of Korean International students such as myself at all over the dental schools. (Also, many Korean/Americans)

If there are any "guys" who can tell me about Korean stuff in Florida, please let me know. I will PM you, if necessary. 🙄

I hope every Korean is "open-minded" as other SDN users instead of talking about arrogance, attitude or whatever! 😉

Don't speak "Jae su up su" or Zol ji ma like "girls"~ (Too many word warriors)

Just go to your interview in a wife beater .They completely expect it, because Ft. Lauderdale's super hot.

I was just planning on going in my swim trunks and head straight to the beach afterwards!!

86 degrees..?? have you ever been to arizona? when i went there for my asdoh interview, it was over 100 degrees 😱

yeah, you could melt on your way to clinic from your car at UNLV on a 120 degree day
