Just remember everyone. Administrators and interviewers are well aware of this website and come on here to get an idea of what kind of person you are. Don't think that was you are saying could not be seen by the very same people interviewing you. I know for a fact that some interviewers have even used this forum to "test" the a potential candidate. They will do this test by asking them a question or 2 and judging their response by seeing how you handle yourself.

Thanks you very much to let everyone know. I am good person. Pharmacy is my dream. But can i ask you one question: how do they know who are you when you just have a nick name?

hey,

i just want to say, for those who are waiting, don't worry, they do a lot of interviews and it starts in Oct and doesnt really end til at least march. I just started so i know. and someone said that they interview about 5 ppl per interview.. that is true. i am gonna be a tour guide for one of the interviews so i hope to see some of you then. good luck. and no worries, now that you have done everything you can, there is nothing else you can do but just go on with your lives. hard to do, i know. if you show in ur essay that you really want it, then there is no way for a reader to not see that. i believe that you have what it takes to be a great pharmacist, and someone out there will agree with me and give u that chance.

for nova, if u have any questions about it, PM me.

Thanks for the motivation abt04! It's been about 5 weeks since I've sent in my supp. app and I haven't heard back for an interview. This isn't really a good sign for me, is it?

that isnt concluding anything at all. when i applied, i sent in my supp back in early sept, and i didnt get an interview til early Nov at the least. and it was only a month of them getting into interviews. they do interviews up til march or so, so there is plenty of time, and plenty of spots open for interviews. they take a lot of time going into the applications, so dont worry, it is still soooo early in the game and congrats on the fact that you are doing soo well getting everything together so early. honestly, when they say the early bird catches the worm, it has some validity to it. it did for me and it will be the same for you. just be patient and do something to get your mind off of it for a bit. hehe.

good luck. if u have any Qs, just PM me.

Sooo that means it's early to submit your app now? What's considered late? I just sent in my applicaton Fri Oct 5th, but I wont be taking my PCAT until the 20th, so I'm afraid I won't even be considered yet. Any ideas on this? Additionally my core science classes won't even be done until the end of the summer. It's a long story but basically I was a business major, restarted this past summer and i'm taking all my core sciences at BCC..I should be done by this coming summer.. finishing up with Organic 2 and speech. So yes, this school year is very heavy for me! But anyway I think I have a strong personal statement and strong GPA (over 3.5). I'm just going to have a disadvantage at the PCAT this oct cause I haven't seen organic yet or really even Calc yet for that matter (I'm in precalc and I took business calc), but I'm still willing to swing the bat! I have lots of volunteering and I've been working at Walgreens pharmacy for almost a year. Not certified cause I haven't had time. Let me know if you have any input on this.. anyone!

You may want to call Nova personally and clarify this, but I believe all pre-reqs must be complete by spring term. In their student catalog, it states "after acceptance, final and official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended must be received within 90 calendar days from the start of the term." This is the norm for most schools. As for the PCAT, I took it without organic and did just fine. Just study hard! Anyway, I'd check with Nova about those classes first before applying (you don't want to waste your money!). Good luck!

Just interviewed at NSU today. Not bad at all! I felt really good afterwards. Just the standard interview questions, why pharm? why NSU? how did you study for the pcat? extracurriculars? leadership? Overall, a very good feeling about the interview and the school. Some of the other colleges interview at the same time, so there are definitely people to talk to while you wait. I met some very nice dentists and PA candidates (and future pharmacists of course) 😉 They also had cookies and lemonade. The nice thing I found out about NSU is that they fill up spots in the class as interviews are held, they don't save seats for later interview dates like some other schools do. Once the class fills up, they interview for the waitlist. So, get your applications in early. And for you other early interviewers, the adcom convenes Oct. 25, so they should have decisions a couple weeks after that date for everyone who interviewed earlier than the 25th. (hopefully by thanksgiving they said) fyi, for the later interviewees, adcom meets once a month. Good luck! 🙂

Thanks.

Yeah I spoke with a counselor at Nova in person. She said it was fine to take summer courses (specifically, Organic 2 and speech). Just as long as it is done before August commencement.

Not that many interview per day. Just 5.

Yep. Just interviewed. 🙂 Scroll up and I posted some info about my experience.

Hello everyone!

Just curious as to who's received an interview invite from Nova already...I submitted my app on August 31 but have not heard back 🙁

I'm starting to get really paranoid and depressed as I've already heard of few people that have already gotten invites to Nova. Thanks for sharing!

P.S. Is there some kind of system by which schools start evaluating applications (i.e. alphabetically by last name, first come first serve, etc)????
Oct. 25th

Yeeyyy!

Could you please post your stats guys so we can get a better idea of their criteria for an interview

Well, I'm going to bring this thread back up.

I need a little help/suggestions!

My PharmCAS application was completed in June and sent out at the beginning of July. My secondary application for NSU was completed and submitted early/mid August and I still haven't heard from them. I have a 3.5GPA and a 94% on the PCAT with decent volunteering hours (~60ish).

I still haven't heard a word from them. I also emailed Ms. Templin concerning the completion of my file and I have not recieved a reply (this email was sent about two weeks ago). I've also tried calling but of course no one picks up.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

How many classes are you still missing?

You should have at least received a letter stating your missing courses. I would stop by admissions and speak to someone directly to check on whether your file is complete. Are you missing any LORs or are your pre-reqs all complete?

for the people who got invites for interviews...

can you share your stats with us?! 🙂 please? 🙂

Omg this wait is killing me! I got an interview on Oct 8 and even though they said we would get replies by thanksgiving, I think I am going to be sick by then. I already applied last year and didn't even get an interview b/c i was missing lots of pre-reqs (even though I would have finished them by spring). i hope not to get rejected again b/c it would mean another year of wasted time. Does anyone that has already gotten an interview know more or less when we should know? I know they said by thanksgiving, but do u guys think it'll really be 4 more weeks? I keep stalking my mailbox lol. Well good luck to all those applying and I hope applying this early will help us all get in.

I think you will get in. Last year, you were not called for the interview because of missing many classes. If you had an interview, you would get in unless you completely screw up your interview day.

Thanks for the encouraging words. Yeah I am nervous I think because of the interview. I thought I did pretty well when I walked out, but then I started analyzing my answers and now idk if my interview went so well :/ I think I was just too nervous.

I don't have a bachelor's

I volunteered for mercy and am now a pharmacy technician (for like 5 months)

Other than that I don't have many other extracurricular's b/c I've worked throughout college.

I say fax them, email them and call them and leave a message. then call the operator on campus ask for a name of who handles the pharmacy applications, then ask for the number and ask to be transferred there. then leave a message on that vm. then call admissions for the university and then ask who should you be speaking to regarding the pharmd program there. take the name and ask for their number. ask to be transferred there and leave a message on that voicemail. 😀

It's not as easy as it sounds to get in touch with Nova. I've spent so much time on the phone and sending e-mails and NEVER got any answer. I had to personally go one day to find out that EVERYBODY was busy and I couldn't schedule an appointment. Yeah, I know they get 2000+ applications every year but that's not the way to treat students. I just sent my PharmCAS and I'm waiting to see if they send me any links for the supplemental or not ...

To all first round interviewees: check your mailboxes because acceptance letters have been sent! I just received mine today via certified mail! 🙂

WOW! Congrats man!!! I received a letter today from Nova but it was a different kind. Ok I hold up the suspense. There was a sticker note that read... Please be advised: If you have already filled out the supplemental application due to receiving an email, please disregard this letter.

My hand was trembling as I opened the envelope, but oh well. I guess I'll have to wait for an interview.

Was your envelope thick or just regular one?

hey FLPharm2Be,
congrats on your acceptance. just wondering, when was your interview?

Thanks you all! The envelope is 8x10 and slightly thick. I think the giveaway was the certified mail stamp that is on the front. I interviewed Oct. 8, I know the adcom met on Oct. 25, so everyone who interviewed before the 25th should be checking their mailboxes. 🙂 BTW, the envelope was postmarked Nov. 2 in case you were wondering.

YAY! my parents called me earlier today to tell me about Nova! now i have to decide between them and Mercer. I was so worried while applying; however; i ended up getting an interview at every school i applied to and getting accepted to both schools whose interviews i actually accepted. God is good!

Congrats to those who got interviews and acceptance.

How lucky!

u deserve to get in bc ur an honest person and ur stats r good. what i dont like is some people and even some pharmacist when u ask them what they got they say 99% pcat or a 3.99 GPA which is full of it most of the time. anyways Mercer in my opinion is a trillion times better, and God was good to u. why cant i be that lucky 🙁

I have been waiting and waiting and still no response. No one has returned my phone calls or emails I sent regarding NOVA supplemental application. I need to fill those out soon so that I can be considered for an interview in the next cycle. Some people on this forum already gotten interviews from NOVA. What number should I call? Who should I talk to?
Try calling the numbers listed on the website early in the morning... like right when they open. Nova's staff has a tendency to forget to call you back, or not check their voicemail for weeks. Keep calling constantly until you get through to Tracy (remember to try both early and late in the day (5pm) when she would most likely be in her office). Also, Friday's are the best day to call. I know this because the same thing happened to me two years ago! It took me forever to get a hold of Tracy, but I finally did. 🙂 Good luck!

I went to an interview at nova about 3 weeks ago and still haven't heard anything yet. I am starting to get a little anxious because I know some people have heard back already. Do they let you know either way if you have been wait listed or not?

At the interview, they pretty much told me they do not waitlist this early in the application cycle. They make definite decisions until they fill up the entering class and then they interview for the waitlist when the class it full.

I have not heard from Nova yet. I interviewed on Oct 23. I think it should be here next week.

It is at 12:30 everyday. You will have a tour around the building for 2 hours. Then, they will call everyone up for interview time.

Congrats on your interview! The interviews are held during the week (M-F) and the times are different. Mine started at 8:30am at Ft Lauderdale and I was out before noon. The tour was only 15 min and the interview was about 15-20 min. Most of the time is spent waiting to be called for the interview. Check the interview feedback for questions they ask. My interview was pretty standard, nothing tricky. Good luck!
