I would like to hear everyone's opinion about Nova's attendence policy and dress code.
absence will be reported, dean will write a negative comment on your profile permanently, excuses for absence has to be report in 24 hours.
no blue jeans, has to wear professionally 8-5, mon-fri on campus, inappropriate dressing will be asked to leave campus.

i feel like that we were not treated as professional college students, but a bunch of spoiled high school kids.😀

YAY! my parents called me earlier today to tell me about Nova! now i have to decide between them and Mercer. I was so worried while applying; however; i ended up getting an interview at every school i applied to and getting accepted to both schools whose interviews i actually accepted. God is good!

your tag line... excepted or ACCEPTED? 🙂

I got an email from them about an interview which i have next month

YAY I GOT AN INTERVIEW!!!!! any pointers?

There's no new interview feedback since november of last year ... maybe the ppl who have gotten interviews could fill that out so that the rest of us can have an idea of what to expect.

Anyone heard from Nova lately -- whether it be interview invite, acceptance, etc.?

Yes, I had an interview a week ago.

We have the same dress code at OU, because some of our administration came from NOVA. Anyway, the dress code isn't that bad. We will have to dress professionally the rest of our careers, why not start now??

COuld you share any info? Any advice? Thank you
Just relax, try not to be nervous. The interviewers were very nice. Dress proffesionally and be yourself. my interview was about 20 minutes.

The interview was not bad at all, nothing tricky. I posted feedback in the interview section awhile back, but I feel the best preparation for me was mock interviews. There are many threads that post basic interview questions (which you can bet Nova will ask), have friends/family ask you these questions in a quiet setting to simulate the interview. This forces you to organize your thoughts and response on the spot, it's important to not memorize responses, but to know the main points you want to make. Do the mock interview a few times and you will be surprised how much your confidence will grow, you will do great. 🙂

Really? Who'd you get from NSU? 🙂

Agree with cyclo though. It's not bad at all...I enjoyed dressing up every once in a while...and scrubs for the rest of the time. 😀

Thank you Aniline and FLPharm2Be

I just got a call today from Renee Haripal at NSU. I couldn't answer the call because I was in class but she left me a message saying they want to schedule an interview with me. I called her back a few times today, but she didn't pick up and so I just left her a message. She also sent me an email today that I replied to.

How does the scheduling for the interview work exactly? She didn't give me much information in the email or message she left on my phone. Do they let you choose a date? For how much longer are they scheduling interviews (I saw that their supplemental application deadline was March 1st...)

How long is the whole interview day? Is it just an interview, or is there also a written exam, a tour of the campus, etc.? How long did you have to stay on campus?

Also, how long did it take before you heard back from Nova after the interview if they were going to accept or reject you?

Thanks for any information you can give me, I greatly appreciate it.

Hi,

To schedule for an interview, you just call Renee for their available dates. They usually have a lot of dates available for you since they are interviewing five students at a time. The interview day was pretty relaxing; I got there around 11:30 (I think they've changed the time now to 8:30am because my boyfriend got the interview and it's different from mine), waited for others to arrive, and toured around the campus (mostly Terry Building) Then met with interviewers (3) I was the first to go in, so mine ended around 2pm. They asked questions about your personal statement, your grades, Pcat, and some standard ones. You are free to leave after the interview. Good luck!!!👍

I'll be at the west palm campus on the 5th. anybody else?

Hi everybody!! I submit my suplemental appl to Nova since Oct 1, and I have not heard anything from them.

Are you an international student or non-resident? If not I think you GPA makes up for that PCAT. Just my opinion though

Thank you Lokote for your support, and yeah, I am Florida's resident.🙂

Just had my interview. I thought that it went really well. Seeing the campus, taking the tour, and talking to the professors who interviewed me reafirmed Nova as my top choice. It's going to be a long 4-8 week wait to hear back from them, but I will remain opptimistic. I will post my experience in the interview feedback database soon!

You're welcome! Being a Florida resident pushes you up in the list way more

I applied in July and did the supplemental in August. I spoke to Renee and she said they wanted to see Organic I on the transcript before they interview. I took Organic I in the fall and send my transcript update in December. I went to Nova and spoke to Renee and she told me everything was received on Jan. 14. My stats are My GPA is a 3.74 and my pcat is an 80. A bunch of people I know have lower pcat scores and GPA's and they have had and interview. How come they haven't called me for an interview.

I had my entire application complete and received by Nova at the end of November but I did not receive my interview letter until early January. Also, please keep in mind that your GPA and PCAT scores are not the be all, end all. The ad. comm. will consider everything on your application (LORs, extras, personal statement, upper level classes taken, etc...) Remember, a good GPA and PCAT score does not entitle you to an interview. Good luck! I am sure that you will hear from Nova in the future.

Hey Danilo. Don't despair, I'm in the same situation as you, so I don't know what's going on with Nova either. Hopefully you applied to other schools like I did because with those stats, you're sure to get in somewhere. I've already received invites to other schools, so if Nova doesn't work out, then it just wasn't meant to be, and I have other options (I wanted to stay in South Florida, but you do what you have to do, right?). Good luck!

thank you pills4u. I did apply to LECOM and got called today for an interview on feb. 14. I think Nova might lose out on applicants because their process just seems disorganized and a bit unfair if you ask me?????

And you're right, but I honestly don't think they care. After all they have TONS of ppl willing to do anything to get in. It's a great school, but their admission process and staff is the worse in history.

For those of you who live in the area...have you ever tried to visit the admissions office in person with any of your questions? Obviously this isn't an option for everyone...but if you do, it's an idea (and what I did 5 years ago when I was applying). Probably wouldn't recommend this unless you've already been accepted though (and you're just wondering about things like down-payment, pending classes, etc.).

I really am not sure why it's so hard to get in touch with someone...I know that they're bombarded daily with questions and phone calls though. All I can say is that it's a great program once you're in...you'll definitely enjoy the 4 years! 👍😉

Good luck everyone!

The few times I have been able to get someone on the phone, they've always been nice. You just have to keep in mind that they're probably EXTREMELY busy right now (afterall, many people live in SF and many people want to stay in SF). Just try to be patient and have a back-up plan! I'm already starting to make plans on what I'd do if I have to move (i.e. check into the cost of living in XYZ, roommate possibilities, etc.)

Although I'll be honest and I say that I don't understand how those who applied much later with much lower scores got interviews first. You would think that those who busted their butt in school to get above average grades while at the same time working to finance their education would mean as much or more than just being involved in EC's, etc. and getting ok grades.

Honestly, I have a 3.74 GPA, (with a 4.0 in science) and 80 on my PCAT. I have taken 15-18 credits a semester. I am on the Honors Com. at my school, Member of PTK, which does a lot of community service, and I am a certified tech and have been working in a pharmacy for four years. My LOR's are from a pharmacy manager, My Biology teacher, and my English teacher. I understand not getting accepted after the interview, but not even having the opportunity to interview is a bit ridiculous. I think my stats merit at least an interview. I don't think I should have to be fighting for the last couple of chairs because of the fact that they overlooked my file or decided to call me late. It just seems unfair. I sent my sec. app to Lecom On Jan. 20 and they called me on Feb 1, because the lady told me they choose app based on how strong the app stats are. It makes me feel like Nova is just luck of the draw.

Someone once said that at UF, one is like a #. This couldn't be further from the truth especially having dealt with Nova for my application. If they can't answer calls, then at least the emails. UF is a big school and your questions will be answered. It seems to me for Nova, one is just a #. 5minutes interviewed early, yet, you'd think they at least tell him something about his app. Meanwhile, seats are being filled. Interesting.

I attended an interview on Wednesday, 2/6/08 at the Davie Campus.

Is anyone still waiting to hear from NOVA? I've been waiting...forever!

I haven't interviewed yet. The last thing they ever sent me was a form saying that I was missing one economic class. So then I asked if I would still be considered for an interview even if I haven't completed the class yet (meaning I will complete it during the summer), and they said I will still be considered. But until now...nothing! Are they through with interviews already?

I was told by someone at my school that they had already filled out most of their seats ... but I have no idea how credible this information might be.

When did you interview?

Been waiting for a yay or nay for interview invite. The same happened to me too, I was missing an English class but took that over the winter break already.. but then the grade will not be posted on transcript until spring grades are available. Nova said they are still reviewing my file and that they will contact me if I get an interview.
