NOVA interview & some questions!!!!!

Look at it from this angle: Nova received 3,000+ applications this year (according to receptionist) and ~200 are accepted. This means that 95% of applicants are rejected. I'd say Nova is one of the most competitive schools in the country with those statistics... But, I have heard that unless you are a complete ***** in your interview, you're in. I interviewed a couple of weeks ago, waiting to hear back... They really don't interview you unless they're totally serious about having you there.

I hope it's true, just like you said...I was interviewed about 2 weeks ago and still waiting...My interview went ok, i guess, but like others, I got some hard time reading my interviewers too...I left there feeling just OK, NOT 100% sure or anything...Crystal said that I should hear something in March, gosh, only 8 more days...Hopefully some good news!!!

Only have time for a short reply, test in a couple minutes....
Nova was my hardest interview because it's open file. Be prepared to explain any poor grades, withdrawals etc. They didn't ask about every bad grade but be aware that they're looking at your transcripts during your interview. I had 2 faculty members, they didn't seem too friendly just very straightforward. I had a hard time reading them. But I felt fairly good when I left. Just not like I "nailed" it or something.
But I got an acceptance letter 2 weeks (?) later, can't remember exactly how long it took.
Go in feeling confident, look them in the eyes, be prepared by reading the feedback and doing a little research on their school and you'll be FINE!

Hey... I interviewed a couple of weeks ago too. Any idea when we should be hearing back? Of the ~3,000 applications they receive do you know roughly how many people they interview? I asked Crystal that question at my interview but she wouldn't give me a straight answer. All she kept saying was "oh, hunnie, we don't have set numbers." I think she was trying to avoid answering!

Wouldn't you think I live in Florida if I said "it was like 60 degrees HERE in January, +/- 10 degrees!" . A full January with temperatures in the 80s is very very abnormal (which you would know if you lived here). Thanks.

Do you even live in Florida? If you did you would know that 80 in January in Ft. Lauderdale is very feasible. BTW, it was in the low 80's when I had my interview in January.

Yup, it is. BTW, the Nat'l Weather Service Forecast Office reported Vero Beach reaching 83 three times in January.

This january and february in S. Fla--where i am bye the way, has been unseasonably cool(weatherwise). (I live 15 minutes from Nova) Thats probably what he meant... and Vero beach is way north of Davie but who really cares anyway....just adding to the conversation, g'luck guys.

I don't know how you are so cocky, what's the point of telling someone that it reached 80 three times in January? Is that supposed to be an accurate representation of South Florida weather? Why don't you add in there that it was in the 30s a few times too , or more importantly that your resource says that the average temperature here in Jan. was in the high 60s (Here's a link to your super special reference: http://www.srh.noaa.gov/productview.php?pil=CLMMIA&version=4&max=25). 😛 I don't care what you respond to this post, I'm not replying back any more. Admittedly, I'm a little further north than Ft. Lauderdale in Tampa Bay. But, it was 38 last night, my heater is running and it won't get out of the 60's today.

South Florida (where NSU is located) does not have a real winter. We long for the "winter" months b/c it always sunny (no rain) and not in the 80s/90s. Very beautiful and enjoy it...

During the summer months(April-October), it is usually in the 80s/90s and rains at least a few times a week. In June, it can rain everyday(just not the whole day) and the humidity will make it feel like it's 100 outside.

Hey guys its good to see that you guys are getting acceptance letters...im so jealous...I think I made a mistake by checking off west palm as one of my campus options. The only reason I did that was because I finished my pharmcas Mid December and my supp in late Jan and crystal told me that they have over 3K apps that’s like twice last years # of apps. Well anyways I guess I should still be happy that at least I got an interview for the Palm Beach campus. Many of my friends that go to the local Broward Community College have not received an interview letter. It sucks because Palm Beach campus is like 75 miles from where I live. Im going to have to move on my own in Palm Beach and pay RENT + Living expenses!!! On top of Nova's 18K+ Tuition. Well like I said...I should be thankful...Im just curious.. Is n e 1 else going to the Palm Beach campus??? DO you think it’s possible to transfer to the Davie campus after you get accepted? And once you’re sent an interview invitation from one of the campuses are you then taken out of the applicant pool for another campus?

Nova sent out acceptance letter to late Feb and March inteviews yet??? Anyone hears new things??? I'm on waitlist for both Midwesterns, and now waiting for NOva....Really want to know my chances...

LOL Well, I was called a day before my interview and was offered an interview for either the next day or in 2 weeks... so I took the one for the next day! Didn't have much time to prepare- ironed a suit, read a book on interview questions, and that's about all! I was really freaked out @ the interview but I knew basically everything they were gonna ask so I kinda just interviewed myself lol seriously, I pretty much had a whole monologue- and they loved it! They were all taking notes and smiling and were v. friendly. Best of luck! Just be genuine...

yesterday, as soon as I got out fr work, my mom called me and said that the mailman left a note===me picking a letter "certified" up at the post office...There is no name for the sender but I was thinking is from NOVA since now it's the right time to know==nearly end of March..so yeah, I couldn't sleep last night, and tried to calm myself and "ok, I'll deal with it if it's bad news.."....Guess what?? I went to post office early in the morning, ....They couldn't find my letter... 😡 😕 I stood there 10 good mins, and still "still looking for it dear".....So yeah, more waiting, they said they will deliver it today IF they find it today...

Just got home from work, my mom told me that I"m in!!!! She knows it for sure when the mailman handed her a big envelop from NOVA...I'll choose Ft. Fauderdale of course, I really like that campus...

I have to make deposit before April 3....I'll send it out tomorrow...

still need to take 2 more classes though( stastic and Mirco econ..), but I'm pretty sure that Nova let you finish those over summer, right???that's the infor I got from Pharmcas, correct me if i'm wrong..

Oh, and I called Nova right away and spoke with Tracy because I wanted to know if it was true that the Ft. Lauderdale campus was full. Anyway, it's not! Tracy said that it would only be full if every person that they sent acceptances to during this round sends in a deposit, but she said that is highly unlikely. She assured me I had a spot!
