Does anyone else have an interview at Nova this week? I have one the 3rd and when I called to confirm my reservation at a hotel they said all the rooms were full. Just wondering if anyone else is having a problem and what they're doing about it.

I have an interview on 11/18..and im planning to reserve hotel prolly amerisuite tomorrow after class..try calling around different hotels.to check vacancies..worse comes to worst..you stay at a hotel further away..and rent a car to get to interview

I just called, amerisuites..half of their rooms are flooded now..and they wont have any rooms until november 20 something...and as far as they know..the school is still closed..i dont know what to do!!! damn it must have been pretty bad over there...

I have an interview on this friday the 4th. My fiance also has an interview that day so she called for us today and they said that the interviews are still on so i am assuming yours is still on for thursday. As for a place to stay... We dont have that yet. We were supposed to stay one place and cant do that anymore. the people that i know down there that I was thinking of staying with have no power and suggested that we find somewhere else. I need to get moving on finding a hotel but it is probably difficult with all of the people displaced from the hurricane staying in them currently til the power is back on. Ive heard to be careful not to drive too much with the rental cars if you have one because there isnt much gas down there currently so you might have to try hard to refuel. Let me know if you find a hotel with vaccancies. Really hoping to not have to sleep on the beach. lol.

If you guys can't find places to stay I'm sure some of us students with power would be willing to help you out...

good lord..i tried calling 2 hotels..the ones that have shuttle to and from airport and to and from nova hampton inn plantation and amerisuites plantation...and amerisuites has half of their rooms flooded..and arent taking any reservations until late november..and Amerisuites doesnt have power..so they told me to call back in a couple of days even though they said 11/17 was booked full already...anyone know of any other hotels that have shuttle from airport..and nova??

Rent a car man. Do it online, I'm sure you can get one for about 25-30 dollars a day. Probably the same, or cheaper, than using taxis or shuttles.

My mom called 12 hotels (all of the ones that Nova recommends on their site) for me while I was in class and none of them had open rooms. Not only did the hurricane mess things up, some boat show was rescheduled for this weekend. Good luck to everyone trying to find somewhere to stay (we need it!). My interview is friday.

If you guys get into trouble and can't find anywhere, start private messaging us Nova people. Hint though, a lot of people got power back yesterday...and even more today. Hopefully things will be getting better in the next day or so.

One thing to note, you will not be seeing this area at its best---quite the opposite, you will be seeing it at its worst. Keep that in mind.

im glad you nova ppl are alrite..i had no idea it was this bad...i will definately keep in touch if i cant find a place to stay..but i dont think that will be a problem..my interview is on 11/18.....btw..i was wondering..how long was/is nova closed for?

1 week.

...and I will add a bit. Although getting information during the closing was very difficult, I can give the staff and faculty a round of applause for the way that they have handled rescheduling everything. They have done a great job of making sure we have plentiful time to prepare for upcoming examinations and not overwhelming us. Good luck with your interview. :-D

Many of the hotels are booked up due to all the relief effort workers (FEMA, Florida Power and Light, etc) in the area. Keep trying and hopefully something will open up.
