I e-mailed NSU about some LOR's a week ago and have not had a reply. Just wondering if they are still having problems with hurricane stuff, or are they just slow. Should I email again or just call.

Okay everyone...

FROM OTHER POSTS NSUCOM DID NOT SUFFER FROM THE HURICANES

Therefore, I think that they are just slow. They told me that they mailed me something last week Tuesday or Wednesday and I still have not received it. I don't know if it is the in school mailing that is the problem, or if the USPS is taking their time driving in and out of FL.

...but no, no hurricane problems. I think class was canceled for two days about a month or so ago and that is it. They have been lucky thus far.

they are slow.

I interviewed on Sept 9th. They left me a message on the 25th.. saying I am missing a LOR... I called and of course had to leave a message. Asking them to double check.. they still have not called me back.

I wonder how long it is going to take them to realize that I am withdrawing my application to there school.

BTW.. I love the way everyone calls them NOVA .. even though they hate to be called nova.. they prefer NSUCOM that is Nnnn Suuuueeee COM

I would call and keep trying at various times until you get through to someone. Unlike some other schools that are strictly a medical school, NSU has numerous professional schools that fall under the Health Professions Division (HPD) so things can get hectic in admissions. Good luck.

I would advise everyone, especially people who have already interviewed, to stay in touch with the schools that they are interested in and make sure that their file is complete (even if they think it is) so that they can be reviewed. Taking a more active role in the process can really make things run more smoothly and more quickly.

The medical school prefers not to be called Nova because the medical school used to be Southeastern University but merged with Nova University in 1994 - making Nova Southeastern University. Because of this, they prefer to go by NSUCOM so that the merger and both entities are recognized.

I don't think that NSU is the problem with your packet being mailed. I live in Tallahassee, Florida and my parent's mailed me something out of Ft. Lauderdale which took over a week to get here. I think USPS is just playing catch up which is slowing them down. I hope you get it soon! 🙂
