Hi everyone! I'm having a really tough time choosing between these two schools. I made a brief pro/cons list about each school! If any current students or anyone who has any insight can help me decide I would greatly appreciate it. Please leave comments below, vote in the poll or PM me. 🙂
NOVA MD (NSU Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Allopathic Medicine)
PROS:
- Florida weather
- Near family
- In the same state as my boyfriend
- I have friends going there
- Urban
- Pass/fail curriculum
CONS:
- in-state (kinda wanted to go OOS for school since I lived in FL my whole life)
- More expensive tuition overall ($220,656)
- More expensive cost of living in FL
- Mandatory PBL daily
- Newer school
NEOMED (Northeast Ohio Medical University)
PROS:
- Out-of-state (i wanted to go out of state for the experience, since i lived in FL my whole life)
- Also near family (strong ties to Ohio)
- Best interview experience I had
- Cheaper cost of living
- Cheaper tuition overall ($201,233) (they give you in-state tuition after the first year if you establish Ohio residency)
- More established school
- Pass/fail curriculum
- Classes aren’t mandatory
CONS:
- Cold Ohio weather
- Don’t know anyone else going there
- Rural
