Nova Microbiology Pre-requisite

Did Nova (Southeastern University) dental school make Microbiology a required pre-requisite now, as in made it required within the past 2 months ?

Was Microbiology a required pre-requisite last application cycle (for the class starting this Fall 2010) ?

I applied last cycle w/o them having a microbio req. UF had one.

There is a list of upper division classes they like to see, and you have to pick at least two of them.

I don't know if this has changed for the Fall of 2011 entering class though.

Nova likes you to have alot science classes

I just checked their website now and it is listed...

Can schools change things like that on such short notice (practically after u've sent in ur application already) after u've spent so much time checking all the schools' websites to make sure u met all the requirements before applying ?

Don't know, thought they usually do it well in advance.
I did not list microbio as one of the classes I plan on taking.

Hopefully they give me an interview and say they accept me if I plan on taking microbio and not just reject me right away because I did not take it/plan on it.

I hope/pray this is a mistake on their website & that the requirements stay the same as last cycle, since we've all submitted our applications in already before this.

Nova, please be nice to us poor struggling pre-dents. Please let this be a mistake

I don't think any of these are 100% set in stone. Mostly I feel they are a guideline, but this does depend on the school too. Some schools are real strict on this stuff and others not so much (meaning off by 1 probably let you slide, off by 2 or more probably in trouble). Honestly though I would definatly take it before you go to Nova!!!! The very first class you will take and complete in about a month and a half is micro, they really push you through this subject fast! Is it possible to do okay without the background, yes, is it better for you to have some background in the matter, most definatly!
