I tried to do a search and find out some info on the NOVA OMM fellowship but could not come up with anything specific. Is there anyone here that has applied for it? If so do you have any information?
I really like to learn more about OMM and this seems to be awesome, I just don't know enough.
Thanks

I'm going to assume that it is a fellowship for students to stay an extra year at their med school and teach/research/practice OMM....most schools have some variation of this. You'll learn plenty about OMM when you start school (I'm assuming you're not in a DO school yet) and can join groups such as UAAO to learn more.

extra year betw year 2 and year 3.

they pay for subsequent year three and year four. but you still have to come up with cost of living and all.

not worth it to me if money is a big factor in that decision. you save 60g's but if you think about it, you'll make over that in one year when you're out of residency one year earlier.

Also, it's pretty competitive. One student told me she had to interview for about 12 different people to try out for it.

You have to be hardcore about OMM for it too.

the info is all correct...(dono how competitive it is tho)...but you actually do a 1 year fellowship between year 2 and 3..and they give you free tuition for 2 years...and you help teach the first and 2nd years OMM...theres also a research fellowship which does pretty much the same thing...but no teaching i think....also an anatomy fellowship (dont think they give free tuiotion for this one)

The "loss" of one year of attending salary over a 30 year career is hardly comparable to the experience you can gain with additional education in any area, OMM included.
