Nova Physical Therapy
Started by mnDPT2015
When I called they told me that Nova only does phone interviews when necessary. Usually they just accept and decline based off of the written application. That is what I was told. I received a letter in the mail and I am a "hold" candidate and they are re-reviewing my application in the next meeting. I have never been to the campus but I have been in contact with them a lot and really have grown to love the program and what they have to offer. If you hear anything let me know!!!
NOva has some open house info sessions coming up you may want to call the dept and sign up for one and get a chance to meet faculty . Can you please share why you feel Nova is your first choice and your opinions of the other schools you applied to .......Thanks

I got an acceptance letter in the mail today!! I really wish the best for everyone in this process, it's so stressful. I hope to hear good news from you jlconner!
I know their passing rate is high, their professors are really well trained in what they teach, and their school is really nice as well as the area around it. I feel comfortable there, and I have family in the area too which would make the move less stressful for me.
I interviewed at UM a few weeks ago and I loved the school, staff, and students, but I wasn't too crazy about the area, I felt really uncomfortable. As for the other schools, I'm not sure. I planned on learning the really in depth details about them as I heard back from them.

I wasn't notified that I was going to be interviewed when the professor called. She just asked me if I could answer a few questions. I thought it was about my application but she gave me an interview on the spot. I received a letter in the mail stating my application was on hold. Not very happy about this.
Kin 2010, I am also a hold candidate. I called them early on in my application process and they said they call people when they want to hear more about the candidate. I am surprised you were not aware about the interview but i wouldnt get to discouraged. I think being a hold candidate is better than being denied. Best of luck to you. Keep us posted on your application process!!

Do you have any idea how much tuition is?

hey, I received my acceptance letter in early October. They don't give you much of a timeline to work with- I got my letter the 12th, and had to pay my $1000 acceptance fee by the 22nd.

Those are damn good stats. Until I saw them I thought I had a chance at NovaSE. Sounds like a terrific program. Congrats.

If applied today, do you think I would still have s chance to be accepted or is too late?
Hi jfox,
It is stated on http://www.ptcas.org/NovaSoutheastern.html that an email will be sent to potential applicant.
Best of luck to you and everyone else!

Once the PTCAS application has been received by Nova Southeastern University, a supplemental application will be made available online. An e-mail will be sent to potential applicant.
Best of luck to you and everyone else!
The supplemental application takes about 20 minutes. Registration can be hassle, but you just fill in a series of forms. No big deal.

I called them yesterday and pretty much as a "Hold" candidate we are waitlisted. Anytime a spot becomes available they review EVERY "Hold" application in alphabetical order and then make a decision. The ladie I spoke with said I could hear back as late as the end of May and the program starts in June. They will call if the status of a "hold" candidate changes. She said it's all about the waiting game now and that's really all she could tell me at this point. I don't even know if they have filled all 50 spots yet but she said THEY WILL fill them all before the class starts in June. They are paying for materials for 50 students and will find a way to have a full class of 50. Hope this helps a little bit.

I just found out today that I have been accepted to the Ft. Lauderdale DPT program! 🙂 I can't wait to meet everyone!
Also, for those of you that have already been accepted, did you send your letter confirming your desire to attend NSU via email or through snail mail?

For those who have been accepted to the Tampa program, what are your thoughts on it? Dr. Riba called me yesterday and told me I had to choose which campus I prefer before my application could continue to be reviewed...I went with the Tampa due to the flexibility of the program with working, etc. Thanks and good luck to everyone!
When I got my Master's (I graduated in 2009), I attended FIU, but I had a friend that went to Nova and loved it (the SE campus, not Tampa). I just recently became aware that they have a really good DPT program and that the tuition isn't too bad for out-of-state students (same as in-state, roughly $26k/year). Since I gave up my FL residency after I left FL following the completion of my Master's, I have to keep that in mind when applying to FL schools. Can someone tell me a little about why they applied to Nova? The program seems great but there is only so much you can tell online. I am due to be back in Miami in May to visit some family and I am thinking about maybe setting up a tour....Just wanted some insight. I currently live in SC and will realistically be applying to MUSC and USC (Columbia, SC) but I wanted to keep my FL options open as well, as long as price isn't a limiting factor (FIU, Nova, and I wish U. St. Aug wasn't so expensive!)...
Thanks so much for the help!
