NOVA secondary confused

I got an email from NOVA today for secondary application and fee. but my AADSAS satuts showing my application is not mailed out. this is third one after OSHO and LLU. 😕

Yeah, I got one from OHSU last week and another from Nova this morning, even though my application was just mailed out on Monday. Some schools look at your app online once you e-submit, before they get it on paper. If you're scores are within the acceptable range they will send you a secondary.

Not to burst your bubble, but the only way the school gets your money is to have you fill out the secondary. But with that being said they are interested in you

you are right dude and I know that, my question was I got these emails before my application mailed out by AADSAS. lol but I am a little smarter than that I will wait till my DAT next month and then fill up their secandary and other schools if it is necessary 😀 😀

Oh your DAT isn't even in? Yeah i would wait until you get your scores


Come to think of it Nova was the first school to contact me last year as well, but I applied kinda late so you guys are ahead of the curve

I have my old one 20/19/15 but I am retaking. I don't know they are considering my old one or not. but i believe you are right they are interested in application fee more! 🙂

So, I've been wondering about what you guys are discussing...would it be alright to wait until after I get my DAT scores (around the 3rd week of July) to submit the secondaries?

Of course, I've paid AADSAS to send my application to these schools, but, it doesn't seem to make sense to submit the secondary and another check until the scores come out...right?

Or, would it be too late to submit the secondary in late July?

Anyone have any helpful advice on this?

You can submit the secondaries now, but without your DAT scores many schools consider your application incomplete. And it makes sense because the two biggest factors that they judge on are GPA and DAT.

It is not late. I am doing same but I already have my old DAT that is avrage (20). I will wait for my new one in july then go for secandary application but it is up to you what you want to do.

my aadsas gpa just got verified today sooo does that mean that schools like nova and ub send out an email/secondaries ONLY if they like ur gpa and dat scores or do they send them out to everyone that applies??

i indicated on my application that im gonna retake the dat in late july again so does that mean that i wont get a potential secondary app until after these schools get my new dat scores???

It really depends. Like people have said, secondaries are not a big deal. If you get a secondary it just means that you met the minimum cutoff to be considered for a school (sometimes the standard isn't event that high, and a rejection letter is mailed out right after they cash your check). But basically, if you get a secondary, it means that the school will seriously consider your application. An interview invitation is a much bigger deal. It means that the school thinks you would be a good fit for them, and they want to meet you in person to make a final decision. Secondaries are good, because it means they didn't just trash your application, but the real key is getting an interview invite.

well doesnt that put at a disadvantage then if your first dat scores are on the low side...like you wont even get a secondary b/c they saw that ur first scores are bad...OR would they wait till ur new scores come in and then consider giving you a secondary?

Right, they would reconsider if your new scores are substantially higher. But you're right, any low DAT score puts you at a disadvantage.

I have my old one as i said 20/19/15. IMO they are going to send email for everbody that applied to thier school, regardless of old DAT score or without DAT score. they think more about money in this case.

does anyone know when is the latest deadline to submit the secondary? because my DAT is at the end of july and I don't know if it will be too late if I submit my secondary at the beginning of august.

i just wanted to make sure.. Nova's application fee can somehow be paid online via the secondary application? i didn't have much time to look when i opened my account, but that was the impression that i got from the accompanying e-mail.

Yes you pay online, at least that is how it was last year
